Safe And Sound ft. Zion I Remix
Rebelution Lyrics

Is this the kind of vibe that you want to feel?
Cuz I'm the type of guy that you'll never fear
You can do your thing then come near
Maybe I'm caught up in the thing that you know I like
See we can make time baby overnight
Or we could make a grand escape
We can roll high on our break
I'm all about the look that you're giving me
I'm all about the dance moves you're letting free
Well I'm all about a sweet sounding loving spree
Listen for my melody
Maybe I'm caught up in the thing that you know I like
We can make time baby overnight
We could make a grand escape
And we can roll high by the way
When we come down
We'll be dreaming safe and sound
You better know why
Baby that's all I got
This is the kind of sound that I want to hear
This is the kind of vibe that I want to feel
And you're the type of girl baby on the real
Check it one time, what's the deal?
Maybe I'm caught up in the thing that you know I like
See we can make time baby overnight
Or we could make a grand escape
And we can roll high by the way
"Safe and Sound" by Rebelution is a love song that celebrates good vibes and a carefree atmosphere. The song features two voices, one male and one female, and it’s written in a question-and-answer format. The song begins with the male voice asking if the kind of sound and vibe that the female voice is sharing with him is what she wants him to hear and feel. He affirms that he’s not someone to be feared and is all about allowing her to have her freedom, while still being open to being near her. The female voice responds by echoing the chorus back to him and adding that she’s all about his melody and dance steps. She, too, likes the sound and vibe that the male voice is putting out.
The lyrics emphasize the idea of getting lost in the moment and enjoying the time spent together. The two voices are both open to having a good time and are hoping to leave behind any problems that they may have been facing. They want to make time for each other, even if it means making a quick getaway from reality. The song ends with the idea of coming down from their high with the reassurance that they’ll be “dreaming safe and sound”. Overall, the song expresses a desire for a safe and happy love, one that allows them to be themselves and enjoy what they have with each other.

Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Bro’s Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.
