Oh boy
Oh boy
Oh boy (boy), oh boy (boy boy), oh boy (boy), oh boy
Oh boy (boy)
Oh boy (boy boy)
Oh boy
Oh boy
Oh boy (boy)
Oh boy (boy boy)
Oh boy (boy)
Oh boy (boy boy)
Oh boy (boy)
The song "Oh Boy" by Red Velvet is a fun, upbeat track that primarily centers on the feeling of falling in love unexpectedly. The first verse describes how the sunlight and the boy's gaze make the singer feel overwhelmed, and how the boy's voice sounds sweet to her. The second verse has the singer describing how the boy discovered things about her that she didn't even know herself before they met. The chorus elaborates on how the boy appeared in her dreams and became the missing piece in her life, making her feel like she's in a new season of life. The bridge talks about how the singer feels like being in love with this boy is like a miracle, and how she can't find the words to express just how much she wants him to see her for who she is.
The song's use of imagery and metaphors is what makes it stand out. The title "Oh Boy" itself is a fun, playful way of expressing affection, and the lines "넌 내게 깜짝 난 눈만 깜박 / 입술 닿을 듯 시간이 멈춘 순간" (You make my heart skip a beat / Time stops when I think our lips may meet) adds to that playful tone. The verses also suggest that the boy had some kind of precognition or psychic ability to see things about the singer that she wasn't even aware of herself. This could be interpreted as the boy representing fate or destiny itself, which could further enhance the romantic themes of the song.
Overall, "Oh Boy" is a unique take on the concept of falling in love and pairs fun, upbeat instrumentation with insightful lyrics. The song's use of metaphor, imagery, and clever wordplay keep it engaging and fun to listen to.
