I swear for just a second when I heard that Phil Collins “axed” Paul McCartney, it flashed through my mind that this must be more serious than I imagined.

Rc topfueler

axed is a acceptable form from old days but yep he said it

@Rc topfueler Being from Eastern KY I heard relics of Elizabethan and Jacobean English while growing up. So I’m not questioning their validity.

My grandmother used the word “axed” for “asked.”

I’m just saying that I wasn’t paying much attention and for a split second I truly thought the worst. That’s all.

This may be a forum where standard English phraseology would be preferable. Or not for all I know. That’s another discussion I guess.

Gary DeMichele.

ha!.. I know ..sorry , couldn't get past the 'axes'.....
