Schandmaul was founded in the summer of 1998, when six musicians from Munich and the surrounding area decided to put on a concert of folksongs. Because just doing covers was not enough, they decided to write some of their own stuff. Thus was created the first tune they wrote themselves, "Teufelsweib" (Devil Woman), which already had what was to become the typical Schandmaul sound that they've built on over the years.

Schandmaul hat mir die Zeit meiner Trennung und anschließender Scheidung nach über 26 Jahren erträglich gemacht. Danke, dass mir eure Lieder soviel Mut gemacht haben und ich weiter nach vorn schauen kann.

Ich habe die Lieder früher auch mit meiner damaligen Frau gehört, höre diese aber auch heute noch sehr gerne.
Bei meiner damaligen Trennung war "mein Lied" allerdings Heuchler von Megahertz. 😄
War und ist aber immer noch zutreffend. 🤣

Das hat mir meine Mutter immer vorgesungen als ich ein Baby war und jetzt singen wir es immer zusammen. Das is unser Lied. Wir können es nämlich beide auswendig und dieses Lied errinert mich immer an meine Mutter.❤️😍

Lieblings-Schlaflied meiner beiden Jungs (!1J. und 3J. alt). Muss ich jeden Abend singen. Wir ersetzen zwar "Prinzessin" durch "mein Engel" wegen dem Geschlecht, aber nichts desto trotz: Die neue Generation der Schandmaul Fans wird schon früh gefördert! ;)
