Watson left the band in 1997 and was replaced by Ashton Geoghagan. Anderson left the band in 1998, and in 1999 Dan Stacey (fiddle, highland step dancing) and Scott Long (highland bagpipes) joined Seven Nations's lineup. Geoghagan was later replaced by Christian "Crisco" Miceli, who rounds out the band's current membership.
The band regularly tours across the US, has appeared on ESPN, CNN, and CBS, and has sold over 125,000 albums without signing to a major label. The band's most successful release to date was And Now It's Come to This, released on Razor & Tie Records.

You know I'd hate to be around
when my plane kisses the ground
this time I'll leave it
I'd hate you to see
the weaker side of me
see me fall down on my knees
this time I'll leave it
Every little part of you that aches
every little piece of me that breaks
every time I see that face
I'm leaving
every time you tremble time stand still
every time I say I won't I will
every time i see that face I'm leaving
Denied in me
I've become an effigy
of the man I used to be
this time I'll leave it
I feel your need
without I would not be complete
A simple tragedy
this time I'll leave it
Every little piece of you that breaks
every little part of me that aches
every time I see your face
I'm leaving
every extra minute's my mistake
every little breath of yours I take
every time i see that face I'm leaving
Now I'm living on the second floor
Now I'm missing you more than I ever did before
Every little part of you that aches
every little piece of me that breaks
every time I see that face
I'm leaving
every time you whisper I want more
every time I'm hanging from your door
every time I kiss your face
I'm leaving
Now I must say more
than I could never dream of ever
or take away the part of you
I'm leaving
Now I think I should consider there
could never be
another chance for me to make you see
I'm leaving
In Leave It, Seven Nations talks about leaving town and how he wouldn't want anyone to see the weaker side of him as he falls down on his knees. The song also mentions how every little piece of them aches and breaks whenever they see the other person's face. Despite feeling incomplete without the other person, he believes it's time to leave it all behind.
The song talks about wanting to leave before things get worse, before they break down in front of each other. There is a sense of sadness and resignation as he knows the relationship is not working despite needing the other person in his life. Therefore, he feels he must leave and accepts the fact that their story has come to an end. The song seems to be an account of someone who wants to save himself from getting hurt further.
Overall, the lyrics are poignant and explore the idea of letting go when things are not working out in a relationship. It also highlights the complexity of relationships and how sometimes, we need to let go of what we love despite not wanting to.

Lyrics:
I'm gonna fight 'em off
A seven nation army couldn't hold me back
They're gonna rip it off
Taking their time right behind my back
And I'm talking to myself at night
Because I can't forget
Back and forth through my mind
Behind a cigarette
And the message coming from my eyes
Says "Leave it alone"
Don't want to hear about it
Every single one's got a story to tell
Everyone knows about it
From the Queen of England to the Hounds of Hell
And if I catch it coming back my way
I'm gonna serve it to you
And that ain't what you want to hear
But that's what I'll do
And the feeling coming from my bones
Says "Find a home"
I'm going to Wichita
Far from this opera forevermore
I'm gonna work the straw
Make the sweat drip out of every pore
And I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding, and I'm bleeding
Right before the Lord
All the words are gonna bleed from me
And I will sing no more
And the stains coming from my blood
Tell me "Go back home"
