On any side you like
You find it all can mean nothing
On the way back
In all the ways that you figured out
How it all should mean something
Your dream of balance hasn't found me yet
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all
And on the inside
With the mast high the ship sails
The bed staying motionless
The stormy waters never pass, they're everlast
You just swim them better now
Your dream of balance hasn't made a mark
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all
The boys make fathers
Mothers made them all
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all
Drunk off the cup of human kindess
Must be the reason for your blindess can it?
You must missed your planet
To take it all for granite
The words you don't say
Say it all
Your dream of balance hasn't made a mark
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all
The boys make fathers
Mothers made them all
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all, at all, at all
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all, at all, at all
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all, at all, at all
How do you know if you don't try
It don't make a difference at all...
The lyrics to Skycycle's song "All in" reflect the struggle of finding balance and meaning in life, both internally and externally. On the outside, one can try to make sense of everything, but ultimately it may feel like it means nothing. On the way back, however, there is hope to find meaning in the ways we have figured out. The dream of balance hasn't been realized yet, but we are encouraged to keep trying.
The second verse reveals the internal struggle, where even with the mast high and the ship sailing, the stormy waters never pass. The singer has learned to swim them better, but the dream of balance still eludes them. The boys make fathers and mothers made them all, reflecting the importance of family influence on our identities.
The bridge of the song suggests that perhaps our blindness and lack of progress in finding balance may be due to our own neglect or taking things for granted. The words we don't say can say it all, in terms of what we truly desire or need for balance. Overall, the message of the song encourages us to keep trying and not give up on finding balance and meaning in our lives.
