But long as there are stars above you
You never need to doubt it
I'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good what living do me
God only knows what I'd be without you
God only knows what I'd be without you
If you should ever leave me
Well life would still go on, believe me
The world could show nothing to me
So what good what living do me
God only knows what I'd be without you...
In Skycycle's song God Only Knows, the lyrics seem to be a love song that speaks about the depth of love and the feeling of being incomplete without the other person. The first verse says that the love may not be consistent, but as long as the stars are there, the person can be sure of the love. The second line, "You never need to doubt it," intensifies the emotional depth of this verse by stating that the love will always exist even if it may not be a constant feeling.
The second verse elaborates on the idea of being incomplete without the other person. The lyrics express the sentiment that life would continue without the other person, but it would hold no value. The phrase "The world could show nothing to me, so what good what living do me" highlights the idea that life without the other person is meaningless. The repetition of the phrase "God only knows what I'd be without you" throughout the song reinforces the idea that the person's life is incomplete without the other.
Overall, the lyrics of God Only Knows capture the essence of true love, its emotional depth, and the feeling of being incomplete without the other person.
