Juan Represion
Sui Generis Lyrics

why esperas a tu muerte,
justo una madrugada
en manos de la misma sociedad.
Juan Represión sueña
poder ser invisible.
No puede soportar la verdad,
why el terror lo va a matar.
Juan Represión grita,
Juan Represión llora
Está tan loco el pobre que hoy
en la cárcel se encerró.
Esta es la historia de un hombre
que quiso ser sobrehumano.
why la realidad entonces
se le escapó de las manos.
why ahora juega a los ladrones,
junto con Batman why Robin,
en un asilo de ancianos
con payasos why gusanos.
Pobre Juan, que lástima me da.
Todos los reprimidos,
seremos tus amigos
cuando tires al suelo tu disfraz...
The song Juan Represion by Sui Generis is a compelling story about a man named Juan who lives in perpetual suffering due to society's repressive nature. The opening verse describes Juan's appearance - he wears a sad blue coat and hides from the sun as though seeking forgiveness for his sins. Juan also knows that nobody loves him, and his society is full of people who possess bullets that could kill him. He is a victim of repression, a fact that is evident from the lines, "The people's bullets will assassinate him while standing."
The second half of the song delves deeper into Juan's life, providing more detail about his character. Despite knowing very few letters, he dreams of being a hero, a character from a comic book. He tries to play the role of a good person but ends up becoming a villain, and unfortunately, society ends up becoming the real villain. Juan eventually becomes insane and is imprisoned, where he cries and screams, indicating his mental and emotional breakdown. The song's chorus laments Juan's fate and expresses hope that someday, he will cast off his negative persona and become a free man.
Overall, the song Juan Represion is a haunting ballad that speaks of society's oppression and its devastating effects on citizens like Juan. It's a tale of a man who, despite his best efforts, is consumed by the oppressive nature of his society and brought down, which is a common occurrence in many parts of the world.
