Triad (St Patrick, Cú Chulainn, Oisin)
Tabhair dom ghrása, Fíormhac Dé.
Tabhair dom do neartsa,
An ghrian gheal glé.
Tabhair dom ghrása, Fíormhac Dé.
Tabhair dom do neartsa,
Give me your love,
True son of God.
Give me strength,
The clear bright sun.
Give me your love,
True son of God.
Give me strength,
The clear bright sun.
The lyrics above are not from Tanya St-Val's song "Sé Zouké", but are actually from Enya's song "Triad (St Patrick, Cú Chulainn, Oisin)". However, I will still provide an interpretation of these lyrics. The lyrics are a kind of prayer or invocation, asking for love and strength from a higher power, specifically from Fíormhac Dé, which means "True son of God" in Irish Gaelic. The lines "Tabhair dom ghrása" ("Give me your love") and "Tabhair dom do neartsa" ("Give me your strength") are repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the singer's desire and need for divine aid.
The second half of each verse is a request for light or illumination - "An ghrian gheal glé", which means "The clear bright sun" in Irish Gaelic. Light is often used as a symbol for clarity, knowledge, and understanding, so this could be interpreted as a desire for guidance or insight from a higher power. The repetition of these phrases creates a meditative or trance-like atmosphere, calling upon the listener to reflect on their own need for love, strength, and clarity in their own lives.
