They changed their name by 1967, when they garnered their first minor hit "All Because of You." However, the group didn't break through until their 1971 single, "Whatcha See Is Watcha Get." Their members at this time were Ron Banks, "Wee Gee" Howard, Elbert Wilkins, Willie Ford and Larry Demps. Shortly after the success of their first album, Howard and Wilkins left the group. They were replaced by L.J. Reynolds and Lenny Mayes. Through the 1970s, the group continued to have hits, including the #1 R&B hit, "In the Rain," "Toast to the Fool", "Me and Mrs. Jones", "I'm Going By The Stars In Your Eyes" and "Be My Girl." The group continues to tour and consists of Banks, Reynolds, Ford, Winzell Kelly and Michael Brock, who replaced Mayes, who died in 2004. On March 13th 2010 Ronald Dean Banks was laid to rest at Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan.

Born in 2004. Most of my family is from the Wilmington/Bolivia area in North Carolina . Growing up my dad would bring me down to the house he grew up in to work on as we are renting it out. The car ride through Wilmington would always have this radio station that played the oldies. The Temptations, Jackson 5, The Isley brothers, The Dramatics. This music is what my people grew up on. They rejoiced to it. It is a piece of our culture. These songs mixed with my memories. Now they bring me so much emotion. It helped me gain a sense of what it was like growing up during that time. Nothing today will ever top this sound 🙏🏿

First off....Melvin Franklin would go up against Willie Ford both bass singers and David Ruffin would blow LG Reynolds off the stage. I might be the only person that believes that Ron Banks would beat Eddie Kendricks. The rest of the Dramatics would beat Paul Williams and Otis Williams.

+John Joe The Dramatics are a great group but there is no comparing them to the Temptations...remember, they came after the Temptations and probably took notes from them.
