I gave you everything, why do you hate me so?
I don't feel sorry when you cry
I don't believe you when you lie
Because your eyes are always saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
I gave you everything, what did you give my soul?
I don't feel sorry when you cry
I don't believe you when you lie
Because your eyes are always saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
I don't feel sorry when you cry
I don't believe you when you lie
Because your eyes are always saying goodbye
Saying goodbye
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
It will all end in tears
In The Drums's song It Will All End In Tears, the singer addresses a former lover who seems to hate him despite him giving everything to them. He questions why they hate him and at the same time acknowledges that he doesn't feel sorry when they cry or believe them when they lie. He seems to be hurt by the fact that this person took his soul without giving anything in return, and he is unable to trust them due to their eyes always saying goodbye.
The lyrics' mood is melancholic and speaks to the pain of a failed relationship. It is indicative of the sadness that comes with the ending of a romantic relationship where all efforts have been made to keep it alive, but ultimately, it still ends in tears. The lines "It will all end in tears" are repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the inevitability of the situation. The song is somewhat of a warning to those who might find themselves walking down a similar path in their relationships.
Overall, the song speaks to the emotional toll that comes with the end of a relationship, the hurt that lingers, and the inevitability of it all. It's a touching song that leaves one with a somber feeling as they reflect on breakups that took a toll on them.
