I'll throw you a bone, though. If AC: Odyssey was nothing but the main quest, Kassandra's voice acting would be superior. The actress plays the character straight (no pun intended), doing her best Wonder Woman impersonation. It works well with the self-important, dramatic main quest. It fits.

But... most of the game isn't the main quest. The VAST majority of AC: Odyssey is campy, insane, drug-induced side-quest debauchery. It's off-kilter mayhem, and serious Wonder Womaning about the place doesn't fit that. Alexios is delivered campy and absurd, and he fits the predominant tone of the game perfectly.

My favorite example? You meet a woman who proudly proclaims that she beat a baby every day of its infancy in order to "MAKE IT STROOOOOONG!!!" Kassandra's VA delivers her line as if she's fighting back tears and is stricken by the horror of such depravity. "You... beat a baby?!" It's such a serious response to such an absolutely dumb moment.

Alexios? He's incredulous and acts like it is the most ridiculous thing he has ever heard. The VA recognized it as campy, stupid, and ridiculous... and responded in kind. He got it. He nailed it. "YOU BEAT A BAY-BEE?!?!"

That's why I like Alexios more. His voice actor understood the heart of the game better than Kassandra's did. Much better.

I spent over 400 hours with Alexios. It was worth it. Genuinely one of the best voice-actor performances I have ever heard. Even bought a statue of the bugger. Good times. If you're listening to this and haven't bought Assassin's Creed: Odyssey yet, you should give it a try. It's a genuinely great game (and this is coming from someone who has beaten all the previous Assassin's Creed games twice to thrice over. I love the old stuff, but I can appreciate this too).

I'll have to disagree about the voice performance for Alexios, if you believe he was voiced well, then you might not have heard Kassandra's voice performance, Alexios' voice sounds awkward, to say the least (for me at least) I honestly prefer Kassandra as the playable character and as the superior voice performance, It may be because I just love badass women in games and playing as her may just be more enjoyable for me, cuz the game in on itself is just astonishing, I tried it even though a lot of people said it was a bad game, but since i just love Greece so much, I tried the game anyway and was absolutely having a blast every second, I just love the game a lot, I'd put in my top 5 favorite games of all time...

I'll taketh thy cheese by force I put 160 hours in AC Odyssey I max leveled at level 50 but you can still gain ability points by getting ancient slates. There is so much to find in that game it’s not even funny I still have places on the map I haven’t been to yet that’s how gigantic that map is by far the biggest map in the series it’s 2 x bigger than AC Origins and AC Origins is huge!

I'll taketh thy cheese by force AC Black Flag was good I beat that game I m trying to finish AC Origins now because I beat all the Assassins Creed games except that one I beat AC Odyssey but omg there are so many side quests and the game really takes off once you reach level 10 to level 15 basically once you get off Kepalonia I’m not going to spoil the game at all just know that you being hooked now will make you keep playing to see what happens next. Yeah you ll get the DLC for sure cause if I had the internet on my tv I would definitely get the DLC especially for the Atlantis DLCs because tie into the main game! I won’t spoil it but you’ll see what I mean once you get there.

Courier 6 I didn’t know that was that in the DLC?? I played as Alexios and I didn’t get to Aya being a descendent of Kassandra. With Alexios I found out with the staff he was able to live all the way to the present time and gave Layla Hassan the staff then he dies.

Gameplay is repetetive, story is boring, characters are boring, forgettable and one dimensional, the map is way too big and has really nothing in it, guests are all the same, combat is fine in my opinion but people don't like it cause "It's not assassins creed". All ACs have their admirers. They say "The best assassins creed game I played." For me, AC 2 is the best to remake
Obviously it has a lot to improve and a good script that could be improved even by expanding the story.
Because between the 3 games there is a lot of time that passes. As AC 2 went first AC I played. It is also my favourite. But I can understand it being another for other people who played in a different order. For me, the best thing about AC Ody is that it improves everything from Origin, except the narrative, that becomes effeminate. A story for all audiences ends up disappointing heterosexual men. In AC 2 there was a lot of sexualization and the women were more feminine.
Feminism can ruin the AC saga for men. We don't like that they put women as if they were men. Cassandra always struck me as a tomboy. It is the only assassin creed that I have regretted buying. Despite this, I played it 3 times because I think it has very good things. The battle gameplay is a lot of fun. The beauty of the landscape and cities with the music. Some very interesting armor and weapons.
The game I hate is Syndicate, that i tried to play twice and never finished.

The game is not Assassin's Creed and it is spoilt so much, but man, this main theme... It brings to chills and let you fully enjoy the atmosphere of Ancient Greece. As a person who has a few Greek roots I value it as 10/10 ❤️❤️❤️

One of those games I want to forget and play it again for the first time... so many quests, so huge world to discover, the story is amazing, breathtaking graphics, and I love Alexios as the main character.

The story is not "amazing", considering other masterpieces out there, it's just an okay one. Had they made a game set in Ancient Greece without the "Assassin's Creed" part, they probably would've been able to make a much better game (though even that is in question, considering they released Fenyx Rising).
But yes, a huge, beautiful world with gorgeous graphics and tons of quests.
No one asked, but: I spent so much time just staring at the scenery and taking pictures in the Valley of Olympia during the quest. Such a beautiful place that is.

I agree about it being a good game but kassandra is a better main character because the actor pefectly matchs the tones of the story because the story and fit perfectly but alexios was slaped on as a option as to please the media.

i recently played thru this game for the first time and got 100%. i explored and completed literally every single location as well as completed all the side quests in both the main game and the dlcs. i got all 93 trophies for this game and it all took me a total of 163 hrs. it was very exhausting lol but im glad i did it. sad its over but happy it happened🥹

It's a very good game but he is still far too long with repetitive content on 50/70% of his ride. He could have been wonderful with less horizontal content (repeatable quest and regions, less trash loots), better characters dialogues, quests.

I love this game with a passion. Sure it has its flaws and doesn't really feel like an assassin's game but I actually prefer running around killing like a brute. It's different than all the other AC games but that doesn't make it bad.
