Their 60s hits included: "I'll Never Find Another You", "A World of Our Own" , "The Carnival is Over" (which the Seekers sung at various closing ceremonies in Australia, including Expo '88 and the Paralympics), "Someday One Day", "Walk With Me", "Morningtown Ride", and "When Will The Good Apples Fall". Their tune "Georgy Girl" in particular served as the title song of the film of the same name. These songs have had significant airplay on 'oldies' radio stations over the years.
Bruce Woodley and The Rain, The Park and Other Things's "I Am Australian", which has been recorded by The Seekers, and by singer Judith Durham with Russell Hitchcock and Mandauway Yunupingu, has become an unofficial Australian anthem.

Sometimes I think it's hanging down on me
And it's a hitch-hike a hundred miles
I'm a ragamuffin child
Pointed finger, painted smile
I left my shadow waitin' down the road for me a while
Cloudy -- my thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy
They have no borders, no boundaries
From Tolstoy to Tinkerbell
Down from Berkley to Carmell
Got some poems in my pocket
And a lot of time to kill
Hey sunshine
I haven't seen you in a long time
Why don't you show your face and bend my mind?
These clouds stick to the sky
Like a floating question why
And they linger there or die
They don't know where they're going
And, my friend, neither do I
Cloudy (repeat and fade)
The Seekers' song "Cloudy" expresses the feeling of being lost and unsure of one's direction in life. The singer describes the cloudy sky as a reflection of their scattered and unclear thoughts. The first verse describes the sense of being adrift, feeling like a ragamuffin child with no clear direction or destination. The line "I left my shadow waitin' down the road for me a while" reflects a feeling of having left a part of oneself behind, perhaps a past self that felt more grounded and purposeful.
The second verse focuses on the singer's thoughts, which are portrayed as unbounded and uncontainable, ranging from Tolstoy to Tinkerbell. The reference to poets and the idea of having "poems in my pocket" suggests a romantic or artistic sensibility that is at odds with the singer's lack of direction. The longing for sunshine reflects a desire for clarity and hope in the midst of confusion.
Overall, "Cloudy" is a poignant and introspective song that touches on themes of uncertainty, lostness, and the search for meaning. The imagery of clouds and scattered thoughts creates a vivid atmosphere that captures the mood of the lyrics.

Love the counter-point between Judith and the male members of the seekers. It is a really great arrangement that lets one really enjoy how it is being carried out. Great group!

Forget Simon & Garfunkel or the Cyrkle's version, this by far the best version, performed by The Seekers. With joint writing credits for Paul Simon & Bruce Woodley from the Seekers (who also wrote The Cyrkle's big hit, Red Rubber Ball). The musicality is superb and Judith Durham's vocal cannot be matched by either S&G or the Cyrkle for clarity, accuracy and superb tone.

Guessing you'd likely prefer Peter, Paul & Mary to Crosby, Stills & Nash.
