1) Thompson is a Croatian rock band. The frontman, songwriter and lead vocalist of Thompson is Marko Perković. He is widely considered as to having a right political views, and was the main figure in patriotic movement during the Croatian-Serbian war. Thompson is considered Marko's stage name. Along Marko, the lineup also includes Tiho Orlić as supporting vocalist and bass guitarist, with the remaining members of the bend being less prominent.
The name "Thompson" comes from the Thompson submachine gun, which was Perković's nickname. Originally from Čavoglave in the Dalmatian hinterland, Perković's home was the Croatian capital of Zagreb until 2013, then he moved with his family in Split.
Thompson also features annually at the Homeland Victory celebrations in his hometown of Čavoglave. These performances are attended by many visitors, ranging from 60,000 to 120,000 spectators, and feature Croatian popular artists.
The band line-up on the '' Bilo jednom u Hrvatskoj '' tour was: Fedor Boić, Damir Lipošek Kex, Tomislav Mandarić, Damir Šomen along with Tiho Orlić and Marko Perković.

The song Početak by Thompson starts with the introduction of the lyrics from the first chapter of the Gospel of John in the Bible. The verse “In the beginning was the Word...” speaks about the Word of God, which is believed to be Jesus, and that He was with God in the beginning. The following verse in the song relates to the creation of the world, where God created light and then created man in His image. The lyrics suggest that God gave man the responsibility to rule the earth justly, indicating that man should live without greed and envy.
The third verse speaks about the time when humans were good and lived in the image and likeness of God until they desired more power and possessions. The lyrics suggest that greed and jealousy led humans to sin and disobey God. The chorus of the song repeats the line “Bog nije nas ostavio” which means that God has not left us, indicating that even in the face of evil and sin, God is always with humanity.
