Like a Daisy, oh, you're making the whole world cry
It's so lazy, I'm so down
You keep after, yeah, you're spinning me round and round
Yeah, you're spinning me round and round
Oh, sweet C.C., you're not for me, you're not for me
So leave me be, my sweet C.C, my sweet C.C
Oh I feel, oh I cry
And it's real, all the feelings up in the sky
Don't you know we will go
So far down in a big hole underground
In a big hole underground
Oh, sweet C.C., you're not for me, you're not for me
So leave me be, my sweet C.C, my sweet C.C
The lyrics of Ty Segall's Sweet C.C. tell a story of a tumultuous and intense relationship with a woman named C.C. The first verse conveys a sense of chaos and instability in the relationship, with the singer describing C.C. as crazy and high, making the whole world cry. The second verse reveals a more vulnerable side of the singer, expressing deep emotions and feelings that are overwhelming and real, but also acknowledging the inevitability of the relationship's demise. The chorus, with its repeated plea for C.C. to leave the singer alone, embodies a sense of desperation and a need for distance from the intense emotions that the relationship brings.
The use of contrasting imagery in the lyrics helps to further convey the tumultuous nature of the relationship, with daisy imagery contrasting with the destructive nature of the tears that C.C. brings. The use of the terms "lazy" and "spinning" evoke a sense of disorientation and confusion, suggesting that the singer is being pulled in multiple directions by the intense emotions of the relationship.
Overall, the lyrics to Sweet C.C. are deeply emotional and expressive, conveying a sense of the highs and lows of an intense romantic relationship, and the need for distance and separation when it becomes overwhelming.
