L'amour au coin de la rue
Vincent Vallières Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Et moi je t’ai reconnue
Tu m’as souri j’étais fichu
Et puis cette chanson m’est venue
Et enfin la neige a fondu
Et la peur en moi disparu
Le beau temps a repris le dessus
Sans l’ombre d’un malentendu
C’est le bonheur facile alentour
Et sans trompettes ni détours
J’espère qu’on va s’aimer toujours
L’amour traînait au coin de la rue
Et moi je t’ai reconnue
Tu m’as souri et j’ai fondu
Depuis notre chanson continue
Et quand la neige est revenue
À la même bouteille on a bu
On s’est collés devant une vue
Et les grands froids sont disparus
Les saisons passent sur nos amours
C’est le bonheur facile alentour
Et sans casse-tête ni tambour
J’espère qu’on va s’aimer toujours
The lyrics of L’amour au coin de la rue by Vincent Vallières tell a simple love story that begins when the singer meets his beloved "on the corner of the street". As soon as he sees her smile, he is helpless and a song comes to him. The arrival of spring reinforces his emotions, and all the fear he had fades away as he basks in the warmth of their newfound love. The singer describes how the sun rises on their love and the beauty of their happiness being effortless. He has no doubt that they will always love each other and that their song will continue as they drink from the same bottle looking out at a view. Even when winter returns, they stay strong, and the seasons pass on their love with the certainty that they will always love each other.
One thing that makes this song special is its simplicity and honesty. The lyrics are straightforward and do not use any complicated metaphors or extensive vocabulary; everything is relatable and down to earth. The song's melody is also catchy and makes it easy to sing along.
