Sariñana would later receive further achievement when Mediocre reached platinum status for selling more than 80,000 copies.
The first single, Vidas paralelas (English: "Parallel Lifes"), was a success, having a lot of airplay in Mexico. Mediocre

El lenguaje que quedo en tu piel
Fue la tinta a toda intención
De dejarte lo que soy
Y poco a poco
Gano mi ocio
Cuando veo ya no estas
Y me creí tan especial
Que ingenua, mi torpeza
Y me sentí tan esencial
Que ingenua, mi vergüenza
Me olvidaste, por mi parte, que mediocre
Me encanta escucharte hablar
Que elegancia hacerte sentir mal
Solo quiero que quisieras hoy
Demostrarte lo que soy
Y poco a poco
Gano mi odio
No quisiste algo más
Y me quede hasta el final
Y me creí tan especial
Que ingenua, mi torpeza
Y me sentí tan esencial
Que ingenua, mi vergüenza
Me olvidaste por mi parte, que mediocre
In Ximena Sariñana's song "Mediocre," the lyrics describe the feeling of inadequacy and the realization that the singer's efforts to impress and be seen as special by their lover were ultimately in vain. The first verse speaks of leaving a mark on someone's skin with ink, as a metaphor for the singer's desire to leave an impression on their lover. The second stanza describes the singer's realization that they were only mediocre in the eyes of their lover, and their attempts to be perceived as special were just an illusion. The chorus itself repeats a confession of this mediocre status, acknowledging the singer's faults and naive beliefs.
The second verse describes the singer's admiration of their lover and their wish to prove themselves worthy. They express that they learned to hate themselves for their inadequacy and for being unable to be more than mediocre in their partner's eyes. In their final confession, the singer admits to their own shortcomings, and that they were wrong for believing that they were more valuable to their partner than they actually were.
The song's lyrics are raw and emotional, and Sariñana's delicate voice lays them bare. The instrumental elements complement the lyrical themes, with the somber melody and simple guitar and drums, creating a subtle yet evocative sonic world.

Son las hojas que escribí ayer
These are the pages I wrote yesterday
El lenguaje que quedo en tu piel
The words that were left on your skin
Fue la tinta a toda intención
It was ink with all intention
De dejarte lo que soy
To leave you with who I am
Y poco a poco
And little by little
Gano mi ocio
I gain my leisure
Cuando veo ya no estas
When I see you are no longer here
Y me quede hasta el final
And I stayed until the end
Y me creí tan especial
And I believed I was so special
Que ingenua, mi torpeza
How naive, my clumsiness
Y me sentí tan esencial
And I felt so essential
Que ingenua, mi vergüenza
How naive, my shame
Me olvidaste, por mi parte, que mediocre
You forgot about me, but on my part, how mediocre
Me encanta escucharte hablar
I love listening to you talk
Que elegancia hacerte sentir mal
What elegance to make you feel bad
Solo quiero que quisieras hoy
I just want you to want me today
Demostrarte lo que soy
To show you who I am
Y poco a poco
And little by little
Gano mi odio
I gain my hatred
No quisiste algo más
You didn't want anything else
Y me quede hasta el final
And I stayed until the end
