Pocas Palabras

Me diste un lugar
Poco dijiste
Nada más que hablar.
Si los silencios se fueran muriendo
¿Qué quedaría aquí?
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras son olvidadas
Pocas palabras...
Tengo la ola
La frecuencia de estar sola
No justifico
Mi manera de actuar.
Si tú pudieras mover lo que falla
¿Qué dejarías de mi?
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras son olvidadas
Pocas palabras...
Si yo pudiera escuchar lo que callas
¿Qué pensarías de mi?
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras son olvidadas
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras y puntos...
Pocas palabras son olvidadas
Pocas palabras...
The lyrics in Ximena Sariñana's song "Pocas Palabras" reflects on the complexity of communication and the power of silence. The first verse acknowledges the significant place the singer holds in the person's heart, despite not speaking much. The line "Si los silencios se fueran muriendo, ¿qué quedaría aquí?" (If silences kept dying, what would be left here?) emphasizes the importance of silence in this relationship.
The second verse reflects on the singer's tendency to be alone and not justify their behavior. The line "Si tú pudieras mover lo que falla, ¿qué dejarías de mi?" (If you could move what's wrong, what would you leave of me?) suggests that the singer recognizes their flaws and is questioning what parts of them would still be acceptable if their behavior changed.
The final verse highlights the frustration of not knowing what the other person is thinking or feeling. The line "Si yo pudiera escuchar lo que callas, ¿qué pensarías de mi?" (If I could hear what you keep quiet, what would you think of me?) reveals the singer's desire for communication and understanding.
Overall, the song is a reflection on the importance of communication and how silence can both enhance and hinder it.
