Pas capable

Comme me disait mon oncle Horace
Comme me disait mon oncle Horace
Vous piler sur la tête
Devenir le maître
Toujours garder la pole position
Avoir le contrôle...
Mais j'étais pas capable
The song "Pas capable" by Zébulon talks about a person who is not capable of taking the lead and being in control, despite being suggested to do so by their Uncle Horace. The lyrics highlight the struggle of being in a competitive and cutthroat world where one needs to have cunning and aggression to stay ahead. The person in the song acknowledges the "law of the jungle" and the harsh reality that there is no place for the humble or pure. They, however, confess that they are not capable of being manipulative, aggressive, and dominant.
The lyrics also touch on the theme of societal pressure and the expectation of being assertive and confident. The person in the song feels the pressure to be cunning but is afraid of being disliked by people. They struggle to find a balance between being assertive and not becoming a hated person. The line "pas trop pour pas que le monde t'haïsse" conveys this idea of wanting to be assertive but not to the point of being hated.
The song is powerful and relatable, as many people struggle with similar issues. The person in the song represents the voice of those who struggle with being dominant and aggressive but are also afraid of being disliked. They aim to be true to themselves and are not willing to compromise their values to get ahead in life.
