Zager & Evans are only known for their immensely popular song In the Year 2525 (Exordium And Terminus), written by Rick Evans. It hit number one on the UK chart in 1969. Coincidentally, it was number one on 20 July 1969 in USA, the date of the first manned moon landing by astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and spent six weeks on the Billboard Top 40. It was nominated for a special Hugo Award that same year.

The band signed with RCA records, who claimed they were "The Next Big Thing", but follow-up singles, such as "Mr. Turnkey", went unnoticed by the public.

I thought 2525 was a one-hit-wonder too! I guess this song got buried, as the "year 2525" hit number one on The Billboard top 100 in 1968 and stayed there for six weeks! It was a massive hit! Still relevant today!

Nice song, but by definition people have to buy the record for it to be considered a hit. Zager & Evans would be my pick for the ultimate One Hit Wonder. "In the Year 2525" was #1 for a remarkable six weeks and finished #9 for the entire 1960s decade. They never had another song reach the Top 100, much less the Top 40. You'd think the popularity of "In the Year 2525" would spark some interest in other songs they recorded, but it sure didn't turn out that way.

I find it weird that many people like this song but do not believe in Yahweh nor His son. This song is literally Biblical hypothetical a psalm if you will.
