理想の花
amazarashi Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics of amazarashi's song "理想の花" delve into themes of youth, nostalgia, and the intertwined nature of dreams and reality. The opening lines paint a vivid image of physical marks left behind from the past, likening them to bruises on the ankles that are named "青昣" (seimei), which can be translated as "youth". These scars, reminiscent of a youthful past, are referenced like a mark of revenge that is touched every night. The act of touching them seems to be a ritual of sorts, perhaps symbolizing the singer coming to terms with their past actions and experiences. The questioning tone of "想いは晴れたか? もういいよ" (Omoi wa hareta ka? Mō ii yo) could suggest a desire to move on from past regrets or burdens.
The next line shifts the focus to the idea of embracing music and songs as a form of solace and emotional release. The repetition of "心に歌を" (Kokoro ni uta wo), meaning "a song in the heart", emphasizes the importance of music as a means to express oneself and find comfort. The mention of a "頼りない祈り" (Tayorinai inori), or a feeble prayer, that is lodged as a seed within oneself, evokes a sense of vulnerability and humility. This seed is then released, "飛ばし" (tobashi), suggesting a letting go or a sending out of one's hopes and wishes into the world.
The following verses highlight the transient nature of life and the uncertainty that comes with making choices and following one's dreams. The repetition of "花である" (Hana de aru), meaning "I am a flower," reinforces the idea of blooming in circumstances of doubt and confusion. The line "迷いにだけ咲く" (Mayoi ni dake saku), which translates to "blooms only in hesitation," suggests the beauty that can emerge from moments of indecision or vulnerability. The notion of a flower that takes root in ideals emphasizes the continual growth and evolution that comes with striving for one's aspirations and beliefs.
The song concludes with the image of an "ideal" blooming after the rain, suggesting a sense of renewal and growth following a period of struggle or adversity. The word "ideal" can be interpreted as a metaphor for one's hopes and dreams, signifying a sense of beauty and perfection that can emerge from hardships. Overall, the lyrics of "理想の花" encapsulate a message of embracing the past, finding solace in music, and embracing the uncertainties of life as opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
