Imagine
John Lennon Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky

Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too

Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Imagine if John was still alive, sadly we can only imagine...

How many more unforgettable songs, he may have written.

How many people from all all walks of life, he would of bought together just by his gift.

To write such true beautiful music!! Only to be sung by himself who is most touching of all beings that ever was born and walked this earth...

I always thought ''ELVIS' was king! But my perception on that great lie has changed forever since...

Mister John Lennon R.I.P king! Your music will remain with all forever.

Just to expand on what Kyanite said If you listen to the lyrics light heartedly it is easy to see where you are coming from, genuinely. but after you listen to the lyrics carefully it becomes clear that it is about a communist manifesto which Lennon states in a interview. The lyrics never mention the word "love" or "freedom" which are at the core of your argument.

"But “Imagine” is a subtly contentious song, Lennon’s greatest combined achievement as a balladeer and agitator. He never uses the words “love” or “freedom” in the lyrics. Instead, he calls for a unity and equality built upon the complete elimination of modern social order: geopolitical borders, organized religion, economic class. There is a mocking dare in his language — “Imagine there’s no countries/It isn’t hard to do” — and he kicks back at the cynics who laughed at his and Ono’s peace actions like the 1969 Bed-Ins: “You may say I’m a dreamer/But I’m not the only one.” - Rolling Stone Magazine https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/imagine-the-anthem-of-2001-83559/

I would like to highlight that Lennon calls for a unity and equality built upon the complete elimination of modern social order: geopolitical borders, organized religion, economic class. Which is literally the DEFINITION OF COMMUNISM. By they way most of your paragraph is just listing bad things and where Lennon could have played and done things.

You also said that Communist manifestos are evil which shows you don't understand communism, manifestos and the point of a political doctrine. Communism is a way of running a country which is based on a classless society which is NOT evil but in some ways a good idea, but in some, controversial. Communism in theory is a great doctrine, it's just the way people preform of it that ends up being evil and full of oppression and authoritarianism e.g. the USSR, North Korea, CCP (China) which all use very similar or the same doctrine to communism. All the doctrines you would call 'evil' like Juche, Fascism, Nazism, Communism, Social Darwinism, Anarchism and more are just a doctrine and nothing more. Some doctrines are based around oppression but the base communism form is not at all.

And just in case you don't know a manifesto is just basically the guidelines that a political party puts around its doctrine.

And finally the evidence that completely proves my point: "Lennon himself described “Imagine” as “virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I am not particularly a communist and I do not belong to any movement…. But because it is sugarcoated, it is accepted.” Released as a single in the U.S. in the fall of ’71, “Imagine” went to Number Three on Billboard’s Top 100 chart. “Now I understand what you have to do,” Lennon noted. “Put your political message across with a little honey.” - Rolling Stone Magazine. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/imagine-the-anthem-of-2001-83559/

There you go, straight from the horses mouth my friend:)

The Holy Word of God – The Bible:

James 4:4
"4 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God."

1 John 2:15
"15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

Mark 8:36-37
"36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?"

John 3 : 16-21
"16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

"17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

"18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

"19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

"20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."

"21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."
