2. The Thrills was a punk band that formed in Boston in 1977. During the first wave of punk, they were one of Boston's most popular bands, in large part due to singer Barb Kitson's commanding voice and punky-starlet looks. They changed names in 1980 due to a name conflict, and went on to release the City Thrills EP in 1981.
3. The Thrills were a soul 'girl group' of the 1960s, who released a string of singles for Capitol Records in 1966.

The Thrills Lyrics
So much for the city
Tell me that you'll dance to the end
Just tell me that you'll dance to the end
Hey, hey you're the Monkees
And people said you monkeyed around
But nobody's listening up
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Hangin' around, lettin' your old man down
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Baby, baby, please don't go
Ah, baby, baby, please don't go
So much for the street lights
They're never gonna guide you home
No they're never gonna guide you home
Down at the steam boat show, yeah
All the kids start spittin'
I guess it didn't live up to the billing
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Hangin' around, lettin' your old man down
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Baby baby please don't go
Ah, baby, baby, please don't go
Doo doo doo doo doo doo
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Hangin' around, lettin' your old man down
Just don't go back to Big Sur
Ah, baby, baby, please don't go
Ah, baby, baby, please don't go

THIS was the song of the summer 2003. The thrills may have been forgotten, but nobody can take this fact away. It was played everywhere. song of the summer.

@Lan Ah makes sense that they were bigger in the UK. It's too bad they didn't have more staying power, they had great songs. Thanks for replying after 9 years since the original comment!

@Lan In Italy as well! Mtv 24/7 Summer 2003 shit a lifetime ago... good to praise the good ole days
Lan
@Sebastiano Bovo everywhere UK at least. To be honest I thought they were only a hit in the UK for a short time (and nowhere else)

One of my late brother's favourite songs. I now have his music collection. RIP Allan. Your fashion taste was questionable, but your musical taste certainly was not.
