嘘
Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
The lyrics of the song "嘘" by 秦基博 convey a deep sense of longing for authenticity and honesty in a relationship that has been clouded by deception and superficiality. In the first two verses, the singer reflects on how he has hidden the truth behind superficial words and put up a facade of connection and togetherness with a partner whose heart feels dry and detached. He pleads for a moment of honesty and vulnerability, asking for the other person to refrain from lying or pretending for just a brief moment.
The repetition of the theme of lies and deception in the lyrics highlights the cycle of falsehood and hurt that has characterized the relationship. The singer recognizes the damage that has been done by lying and hurting each other, yet they find themselves trapped in a pattern of covering up the truth and licking their wounds without truly addressing the underlying issues. Despite the pain and conflict, the singer calls for an end to this destructive cycle and suggests making a promise to each other to start anew.
The mention of eternity in the lyrics adds a layer of complexity, suggesting a desire for a love that transcends time and space, one that is authentic and enduring. The singer expresses a yearning for the other person to believe in him, as if that belief alone could make their relationship true and meaningful. This plea for acceptance and understanding underscores the deep longing for connection and honesty that runs throughout the song.
Ultimately, the repeated invocation of eternity in the closing lines serves as a poignant reminder of the timeless nature of emotions and the eternal hope for genuine connection and love. The lyrics of "嘘" reflect a profound exploration of the complexities of relationships, the desire for honesty and authenticity, and the enduring hope for a love that transcends the trials and deceptions of the past.
