Their current lineup consists of Hoffmann, vocalist Mark Tornillo, guitarists Uwe Lulis and Philip Shouse, drummer Christopher Williams and bassist Martin Motnik. Before arriving at their current lineup, Accept has undergone numerous lineup changes, being Hoffmann the last remaining original member since its inception, and he is the only band member to appear on each album.
Accept played an important role in the development of speed and thrash metal, and they were part of the German heavy metal scene, which emerged in the early to mid-1980s. They have also been cited as an influence or inspiration by a number of acts, including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Testament, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses, Mötley Crüe, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Overkill, Exodus, and Annihilator, as well as fellow Germans such as Helloween, Blind Guardian, Doro, Sodom, Rage, and Grave Digger. Accept achieved its first commercial success with their fifth studio album Balls to the Wall (1983), which is the band's only album to be certified gold in the United States and Canada, and spawned their well-known hit "Balls to the Wall".
Accept have broken up and reformed multiple times. They first split up in 1989, several months after the release of Eat the Heat (which was their only album with Dirkschneider's initial replacement David Reece), but reformed in 1992 and released three more albums before disbanding again in 1997. After briefly reuniting in 2005, Accept announced their third reunion in 2009, with former T.T. Quick frontman Mark Tornillo replacing Dirkschneider (who declined to participate), and the band has recorded five albums with him: Blood of the Nations (2010), Stalingrad (2012), Blind Rage (2014), The Rise of Chaos (2017) and Too Mean to Die (2021); each of those albums renewed Accept's popularity in Germany and entered the top ten charts there.

Out on the tiles again
Tired of the routine
I never ever get it right
I've been lookin' for some action
To divert my attention
Got no rhyme or a reason
Feel the time,
The time of the season
Tonight I'm gonna make the grade
Out of the cold nothing can stop
Nothing gonna stop me now, no!
I know I need chain reactions
I know I need heavy action
I know I need chain reactions
All I'm lookin' for
Is the life's attractions, yeah!
Another boring day
I couldn't take no more
Turnin' down the blue mood
As long as I'm runnin'
With the pack I know I'm free
Tonight I'm gonna make the grade
Out of the cold nothing can stop
Nothing can stop me now, no!
Chain reactions
I know I need chain reactions
I know I need heavy action
I know I need chain reactions
I know I need heavy action
Chain reactions, Life attraction
The song "Chain Reaction" by Accept is a fast-paced rock anthem about the need for excitement and spontaneity in life. The lyrics describe the singer's frustration with the monotony of his daily routine and his desire to break free from it. He seeks out "chain reactions" and "heavy action" as a way to inject some excitement and energy into his life. The phrase "chain reaction" can be interpreted as a metaphor for the idea that one small, seemingly insignificant event can lead to a series of larger and more impactful events.
The lyrics also touch on the themes of freedom, rebellion, and living in the moment. The singer feels most alive when he is "runnin' with the pack" and living life on his own terms. The phrase "out on the tiles" suggests a wild, carefree lifestyle filled with late nights and partying. Through the lyrics, the singer asserts his determination to make the most of his life and seize the opportunities that come his way.
Overall, "Chain Reaction" is an upbeat, high-energy song that captures the youthful spirit of rebellion and excitement. It encourages listeners to embrace the unexpected and take risks in pursuit of their dreams.

I like Dave's singing on this track especially. Sure he may not be able to shriek or scream like Udo can, but his style keeps this song balanced especially during the chorus.
