Last year Akurat gave almost 100 concerts becoming one of the most popular college groups. Their main asset is unique unpretentious style escaping classification. Some link them to reggae legends like Daab and Gedeon Jerubal and even to UB40. To others they are the heirs of the independent stars like Mr.Zoob, Kazik and Kult. AKURAT created their own recognizable style. Their music has loads of positive energy and reflects the joy of playing. It’s a mixture of rock with a solid dose of ska music and intriguing lyrics perfectly describing reality.
AKURAT was set up in November 1994 in Bielsko-Biała – the city in southern Poland called “the second Cracow” - by students with different professional aspirations - graphic designers, a filmmaker, an actor and two ”educated” musicians. The members of the band did not change and they are - Tomasz Kłaptocz (vocals, trumpet), Piotr Wróbel and Wojciech Żółty (guitars), Przemysław Zwias (saxophone, flute), Ireneusz Wojnar (bass) and Łukasz Gocal (drums). Their career begun with a few amateur contests, which brought them prizes (in Bielsko and Andrychów). Later they made their way to Przystanek Woodstock festival in Żary, where they performed three times (in 1998, 1999 and 2001) for thousands of people. They also gave concerts in Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2001 AKURAT recorded their first album ”Pomarańcza” (Orange) – with hits: ”Hahaczyk”, ”Espania”, ”Droga długa jest” (Long is the road) and ”Lubię mówić z Tobą” (I like talking with you). Their next album ”Prowincja” (Province) was issued with their own resources and despite of little promotion turned out to be a success – singles ”Wiej-ska” and ”Do prostego człowieka” (To the simple man) – were on charts in independent radio stations.
Charismatic vocalist, great sound of brass, excellent guitarists and efficient rhythmic section are the main assets of the band, which will publish their new album “Fantasmagorie” (Fantasmagories) in late spring ‘2006. The album, with no doubt, will bring them right to the top of the Polish music scene.
Spokój Wielki Spokój

Wielki spokój
Przestrzeń między
Łzami w oku
Spokój w morzu
Morze czeka
Słodycz wielka
Wraca rzeka
Rzeka płynie
Spokój muchy
Gdzieś w bursztynie
Ja to spokój
Rzecze rzeka
Bursztyn leży
Mucha czeka
Ja na moście
Most to spokój
Rzeka leży
W jego kroku
Ja na wodzie
Całkiem płaski
Spokój w cieniu
Moim własnym
Miedzy wersy
Wkradł się spokój
Wyłowiony
Z łez potoku (x2)
The song "Spokój Wielki Spokój" by Akurat is a beautiful and poetic portrayal of inner peace and tranquility. The lyrics focus on the calmness that one can experience amidst chaos and turbulence. The use of water imagery throughout the song is particularly intriguing as it symbolizes the flow of life and how we can find peace amidst its tumultuous currents.
The opening lines, "Spokój, Wielki spokój, Przestrzeń między, Łzami w oku" ("Peace, great peace, space between the tears in the eye") set the tone for the entire piece. The lyrics suggest that even in moments of sadness, there can be peace and space to find solace. As the song progresses, the metaphorical river becomes a pivotal element. The "most nad rzeką" (bridge over the river) represents a necessary connection between the two banks, while also serving as a symbol of stability and peace. The river itself is described as gentle and peaceful, with a few notable moments of turbulence.
The final two lines of the song, "Miedzy wersy, Wkradł się spokój. Wyłowiony, Z łez potoku" ("Between the lines, peace crept in. Captured from the tears of the stream") emphasize the idea that inner peace isn't something that can be easily attained. It takes time, patience, and acceptance. But when we find it, it's like capturing a moment of calm amidst the chaos of life.

Piękne obrazy i motywy w tej piosence płyną przed oczami jakbym śnił na jawie. Bardzo chciałbym poznać jej genezę. Jest taka "impresjonistyczna"
