Carrasco moved to Spain from her native country. In Spain, she enjoyed wild success. She had her first big hit when she was chosen to play Mary Magdalen together with Camilo Sesto in the first Spanish version of Jesus Christ Superstar in the mid-1970s. She also hit the airwaves strongly in the late 1970s, with songs such as "Cariño Mio" ("Love of Mine") and "Quererte a Ti" ("Loving You"). "Quererte a Ti" in particular gave her much exposure all over Latin America, in the United States and Europe. She later had a great comeback with albums such as Dama del Caribe and Candela, as well as Angela.
Angela continues to make music, and after her recent A Puro Dolor, she released a new album, Muy Personal, which includes some new songs in new styles as well as remakes of some of her most famous songs such as "No, no hay nadie mas" and "No se como amarle" from Jesus Christ Superstar. Her voice continues to be strong and her music fresh and unique. She has also taken several steps into theatre.

Tengo nada nuevo qué decirte y sufro
The lyrics to Angela Carrasco's song El Tiempo Nos Pesa convey a sense of bittersweet longing, regret, and resignation about a past relationship. The singer looks at their former love with tenderness and affection but recognizes that the passion and intensity that once defined their relationship have faded away. The two find themselves in a hotel room, staring at the ceiling, talking about nothing in particular, and suffering from a lack of connection. The passage of time has made them used to each other's presence, and their kisses feel vague and hollow. The singer acknowledges that they could try to rekindle their love, but they also realize that it might be too late, and their past experiences might hold little value in the present.
The chorus of the song underscores the central theme: the weight of time on a relationship. The two characters in the song feel that time has made them weary and burdened, and that they are merely going through the motions of love. The possibility of rediscovering their love remains, but they are unsure if they have the courage or the motivation to make it happen. They resignedly kiss each other goodbye and hope that tomorrow might bring something different.
Overall, the lyrics to El Tiempo Nos Pesa are poignant and introspective, exploring the complexities of love and relationships with a mature and insightful eye.

Te miro con dulzura, con ternura, con afecto
I look at you with sweetness, with tenderness, with affection
And I know that we don't love each other like before
In an outskirt hotel, both of us looking at the ceiling
Tengo nada nuevo qué decirte y sufro
I have nothing new to tell you and I suffer
Sentimos que el tiempo nos pesa
We feel that time weighs us down
Nos acostumbra a soportarnos y nos besamos vagamente
It makes us accustomed to tolerate each other and we kiss vaguely
Y hasta mañana
And until tomorrow
It could be that love is born again
It seems that the past has no value
It could be that a moon brings us together again
Parece ser que renunciamos con facilidad
It seems that we give up easily
I miss the madness so much and I wonder if that's how it started
Eres tan familiar, no hay emoción posible
You are so familiar, no emotion is possible
Pero algo nos ata tan fuerte
But something ties us so strongly
That we don't want it to end and we perpetuate the silence
Igual que siempre
Just like always
Y mientras doy la vida
And while I give my life
For something that died, I feel lonely and fragile while walking
