Sorvolando
Anna Tatangelo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Credimi lo so
se si tratta solo di un momento
oppure no
profonde geometrie
le strade che percorrono le mie malinconie
sorvolando penso a te
nel lasciarti due aprole
parole
sorvolando penso a te
nel lasciarti due parole
parole
ma tu non sai piĆ¹ farmi male
stai passando come un temporale tu
non sai cosa vuol dire liberare
chi non vuole tradire
tu non mi lasci respirare
vento gelido
le tue parole cancellare la tua traccia
restando ancora in piedi devi andare oltre la buccia
perche' forse non mi vedi
rotolare come un sasso
che si perde in mare
nelle cose trova il pezzo
che devi riparare
ma tu....tu...ma tu...
non sai piĆ¹ farmi male
stai passando come un temporale
tu
non sai cosa vuol dire
liberare
chi non vuol tradire
credimi non so
se si tratta solo di un momento oppure no

profonde geometrie
le strade che percorrono le mie malinconie

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Anna Tatangelo's song Sorvolando portray a complex emotional journey of a person who is grappling with the aftermath of a painful relationship. The song's lyrics capture the raw intensity of emotions that govern the psyche of someone who is trying to move on but finds themselves constantly revisiting the past. The singer in the song acknowledges the depth of the pain they are experiencing, and despite their efforts to forget, thoughts of their former romantic partner continue to linger in their mind. They describe the roads they've traveled to escape their sufferings, and yet they can't help but feel trapped. The lyrics evoke a sense of resignation and acceptance that this pain might not just be a fleeting moment but a fundamental part of their being.

The singer's desperate longing for their former partner is evident in lines like "Sorvolando penso a te" which roughly translates to "Flying over, I think of you." The singer hopes that their former partner will understand the intensity of their pain and the impossibility of letting go. In the lines "non sai piĆ¹ farmi male, stai passando come un temporale, tu non sai cosa vuol dire liberare chi non vuol tradire" the singer comes to terms with the fact that their former partner is moving on, and they are no longer capable of causing them pain. However, the singer finds it hard to let go, and the thought of their former partner no longer being part of their life seems inconceivable.

Took me 13 years to finally listen to this song personally because I would hear this play in a smooth jazz radio station called Dream FM from 2008-2011.

Miss the days my mom would drive me into elementary school in our van. Good thing my mom kind of remembered this song when I made her listen to this while having dinner awhile ago. She used to hum this song even though she doesn't know who sang or what language this is, but today she knows after Google assistant listened to the tune of this song.

This song also played during my crucial tween years. I would hear this delightful song despite I had personal anxiety, school problems, crush obsession and being bullied. All in 2009.

Another fact is 2009 was the year this song became dominant in Dream FM, now Energy FM, and the title means Flying Over. I did remember our van did play this song on the radio while we were on a flyover in Commonwealth avenue. What a coincidence ! Also, this song kept playing before me and my mom flew to Mexico. Little did we know we did it. So this song is foreshadowing our travel there somehow.

I still don't know if my mom will still want this song to be downloaded to add to her music for our CD player in our car. Maybe one day she'll ask me the title again and she can listen to it like it's 2009 over and over again.
