Maraka was born in Tunisia in 1983, and lived there for ten years before moving with his parents to Jordan. He started taking piano lessons with Travelian Sako when he was twelve years old, reaching grade eight. In 2001, he went to the Music Academy of Jordan for one year, then was granted a scholarship to study in the U.S.A., where he finished his bachelor's degree in Music Composition.
