1. Formed by Nagy Feró and Németh Alajos in 1982, Budapest, Hungary, Bikini is one of the most successful Hungarian rock band of the eighties. Nagy Feró's (also known as "the cockroach of the nation", as he called himself) former punk band, the legendary Beatrice split up in 1982, after having serious problems with communist authorities, when they formed this band.
The band music and lyrics was, like much of the communist era, filled with hidden meanings against the oppression. With Nagy Feró in the front of the Bikini they produced two studio albums, which were very progressive, post modern punk rock albums. Their debut was "Hová lett?" (1983), followed by the "XX. századi híradó" (1984) one year later. However as the eroding of Hungarian communist regime became more obvious and faster, Feró left the Bikini for reuniting the Beatrice.
In 1985 D. Nagy Lajos arrived to the band as a lead singer, when they progressed to a more accessible and melodic rock sound, and produced legendary and very successful hit songs like "Közeli helyeken" or "Ki visz haza?", which are still very popular and often played in Hungary. The band split up in 1992 but reunited in 1997.
Members are: D. Nagy Lajos, Németh Alajos, Lukács Peta, Mihalik Viktor, Makovics Dénes, Bördén Szabolcs.
Some former members are:

2. Bikini (electro-pop dance music duo) is Nigel Diamond and Olivier Olivier. Their music is like Salinger on MDMA. Diamond is originally from Miami and Olivier was classically trained at the Royal Conservatory.
Olivier Olivier is the son of the late Indian poet Fateh Bains and moved to Canada where he attended Glen-Lyon Norfolk School, a school chosen for its musical program affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music. It was here Olivier met Nigel Diamond, who was sent down after he was expelled from his previous school.
It wasn’t until after Glen-Lyon Norfolk that the two began to make music together. Olivier composes all the melodies in the fall of each year, drawing his inspiration from the poetry he writes during the summer. He records vocals, exports all his drafts without titles or form to Diamond. Diamond spends the following spring arranging Olivier's melodies, rhythm sequences and vocal treatments, adding his own lines. The result is a finished record. Nothing is sent back to Olivier. The songs are then sent from Diamond to be mastered and released.

Bikini Lyrics

kint alszik a nyárban az itthoni táj,
az élet is alszik, de semmi komoly,
csak hullik a házra az éteri por.
Megállok a Végtelen lába előtt
és kérem, hogy adna egy kis pihenőt,
míg várom a téren, úgy elfog a vágy,
A végtelen égen a csillag a ránc,
csak elkopik egyszer a nyakból a lánc,
úgy van az élet is, mint a mosoly,
elkopik emberek arcairól.
Megállok a Végtelen lába előtt
és kérem, hogy adna egy kis pihenőt,
míg várom a téren, úgy elfog a vágy,
hogy lássam a sorsaink szép fonalát.
A végtelen égen a csillag a ránc,
csak elkopik egyszer a nyakból a lánc,
csak úgy van az élet is, mint a mosoly,
elkopik emberek arcairól.
The lyrics of Bikini's "A végtelen lába előtt" touch upon themes of time, nature, and the transient nature of life. The opening lines evoke a sense of contrast between the winter world of old times and the sleeping summer landscape. The imagery suggests a dormant state not just in nature but also in life, with the ethereal dust settling on houses symbolizing a sense of quiet and stillness.
The singer then stands before the Foot of Infinity, a metaphorical representation of a higher power or universal force. They ask for a moment of respite, a break from the mundane, while feeling overwhelmed by a profound desire to witness the beauty and intricacies of fate and destiny unfolding around them. This yearning for deeper understanding and connection to the threads of destiny is palpable in the lyrics.
The reference to the star as a wrinkle in the infinite sky and the imagery of a chain wearing away from one's neck symbolize the passing of time and the inevitable erosion of things, including life itself. The comparison to a smile that fades from people's faces further reinforces the idea of impermanence and the transient nature of human existence.
The chorus repeats the plea for a moment of rest in front of the infinite, emphasizing the desire for a break from the constant motion and chaos of life. The longing to see the beauty in the tapestry of fates implies a search for meaning and purpose in the grand scheme of things. The repetition of the imagery of stars, wrinkles, and fading smiles serves to reinforce the message of impermanence and reminds listeners of the fleeting nature of all things in life. Overall, the lyrics of "A végtelen lába előtt" invite reflection on the passage of time, the interconnectedness of destinies, and the longing for moments of peace and clarity amidst the chaos.
