1. Formed by Nagy Feró and Németh Alajos in 1982, Budapest, Hungary, Bikini is one of the most successful Hungarian rock band of the eighties. Nagy Feró's (also known as "the cockroach of the nation", as he called himself) former punk band, the legendary Beatrice split up in 1982, after having serious problems with communist authorities, when they formed this band.
The band music and lyrics was, like much of the communist era, filled with hidden meanings against the oppression. With Nagy Feró in the front of the Bikini they produced two studio albums, which were very progressive, post modern punk rock albums. Their debut was "Hová lett?" (1983), followed by the "XX. századi híradó" (1984) one year later. However as the eroding of Hungarian communist regime became more obvious and faster, Feró left the Bikini for reuniting the Beatrice.
In 1985 D. Nagy Lajos arrived to the band as a lead singer, when they progressed to a more accessible and melodic rock sound, and produced legendary and very successful hit songs like "Közeli helyeken" or "Ki visz haza?", which are still very popular and often played in Hungary. The band split up in 1992 but reunited in 1997.
Members are: D. Nagy Lajos, Németh Alajos, Lukács Peta, Mihalik Viktor, Makovics Dénes, Bördén Szabolcs.
Some former members are:
Nagy Feró (vocals 1982-85), Vedres Joe (guitar 1982-91, 1997-1998), Németh Gábor (drums, 1982-1985), Berecz Endre (drums, 1989-1991), Hirleman Bertalan (drums, 1985-1989, 1997-1998), Gallai Péter (keyboards 1985-2003), Daczi Zsolt (guitar 1991-2004), Csillag Endre (guitars 2004-2006), Kató Zoltán (saxophone, 1989-1998).

2. Bikini (electro-pop dance music duo) is Nigel Diamond and Olivier Olivier. Their music is like Salinger on MDMA. Diamond is originally from Miami and Olivier was classically trained at the Royal Conservatory.
Olivier Olivier is the son of the late Indian poet Fateh Bains and moved to Canada where he attended Glen-Lyon Norfolk School, a school chosen for its musical program affiliated with the Royal Conservatory of Music. It was here Olivier met Nigel Diamond, who was sent down after he was expelled from his previous school.
It wasn’t until after Glen-Lyon Norfolk that the two began to make music together. Olivier composes all the melodies in the fall of each year, drawing his inspiration from the poetry he writes during the summer. He records vocals, exports all his drafts without titles or form to Diamond. Diamond spends the following spring arranging Olivier's melodies, rhythm sequences and vocal treatments, adding his own lines. The result is a finished record. Nothing is sent back to Olivier. The songs are then sent from Diamond to be mastered and released.

A dolgok napról-napra egyre furcsábbak lettek
Nem jobbak, csak egyre furcsábbak.
Gonosz őrültek hülye játéka, felnőttek tehetetlen tehetetlensége
A szülők a legjobbat akarták
De gúnyt űzött belőlük a szabadság.
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy
A keresősugár megcsillan a hajamon
Éjszaka folyékony hidrogénben alszom
Szorul a hurok minden mozdulatra
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy.
Refrén:
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy.
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy
Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy.
The lyrics of Bikini's song "Minden úgy történt" (Everything happened as promised) delve into a critique of societal dynamics and the loss of freedom. The first verse sets the scene by mentioning how stray dogs were collected, implying some sort of manipulation or control. It suggests that whatever was promised or planned, indeed happened. However, as time went on, things became stranger, not necessarily better.
The second verse and the chorus expand on this theme. It portrays a game played by wicked madmen and the helplessness of adults. It highlights the irony that parents, who presumably wanted the best for their children, are being mocked and ridiculed by the concept of freedom itself. The repeating line "Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy" (Automatic handcuffs scream you are free) reinforces the idea of a paradoxical freedom, where one is seemingly unshackled but at the same time trapped by a system or societal expectations.
The third verse introduces a personal element, mentioning a searchlight glistening in the singer's hair and his/her sleep being immersed in liquid hydrogen. This imagery suggests a sense of alienation and detachment from reality, caused by the tightening noose of expectations and limitations. The phrase "Automata bilincs üvölti szabad vagy" returns in the chorus once again, capturing the overwhelming feeling of being trapped yet told that one is free.
Overall, the lyrics of "Minden úgy történt" paint a picture of a society where promises are fulfilled, but the outcome is not what was desired. It speaks to the complexities and contradictions of freedom, demonstrating how external forces can shape and limit individual agency.
