"" Formed in 1992 and comprised of members Scott Angelacos (vocals), Matt Easley (guitar), Art Legre (bass), and John Stewart Jr. (drums), Bloodlet specializes in a form of hardcore that's even more angst ridden and brutal than most of their counterparts. Issuing several singles straight away, Bloodlet signed on with the renowned hardcore label Victory not long after their formation, resulting in a trio of releases during the mid to late ‘90s -- 1995's Eclectic (a compilation of their aforementioned early singles), 1996's Entheogen, and 1998's Seraphim Fall, before splitting up. Little was heard from Bloodlet's former members, as most dispersed to other locales. But during their retirement, several up and coming hardcore groups began name checking Bloodlet as an important influence (especially Eighteen Visions, among others), and by late 2001, Bloodlet had reunited and was rehearsing once more. Hooking up with renowned indie producer Steve Albini, Bloodlet issued their fourth release overall in 2002, the hard hitting Three Humid Nights in the Cypress Trees -- picking up exactly where they'd left off several years earlier.

there is a time for bleeding there is a time for healing but there is no time to mourn see these images I paint on these walls surreal as they are they are my religion feel my stare at your window you can't see me but I'm there look upon the piss stained face of an angel and mend it's broken wing take my hand and be my new true love soaked in sin white knuckle holocaust disgust and triumph glass exile burning long progress so I will live as I have lived and I will live forever
The lyrics of Bloodlet's song CPAI-75 are dark and haunting, touching upon themes of murder, psychotic episodes, messiah-esque figures, and triumph in the face of impurity. The song opens with the lines "Infantile bed wetter stew for the murder minded psychotic episodes bending numbers rise in my flesh count to three brace yourself close your eyes and call my name I am your Messiah", which paints a picture of a disturbed individual who sees themselves as a messiah-like figure, instructing their followers to call upon them during psychotic episodes.
The lyrics take a turn as the singer describes their "religion", which is the surreal images they paint on the walls. They go on to describe their presence, unseen but felt through their "stare at your window". The singer then urges the listener to "take my hand and be my new true love soaked in sin white knuckle holocaust disgust and triumph glass exile burning long progress so I will live as I have lived and I will live forever", suggesting a desire for the listener to join them in their twisted existence.
Overall, the lyrics of CPAI-75 are disturbing and leave the listener feeling unsettled. They paint a picture of a disturbed individual who sees themselves as a messiah-like figure and seeks to lead their followers down a dark path, urging them to join in their distorted worldview.
