Darin was a very special and talented entertainer. He was a Grammy award winning singer ('Mack The Knife'), a respected member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ('Dream Lover', 'Splish Splash', 'If I Were A Carpenter') a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, a successful record producer, an Oscar nominated actor and a strong supporter of the American Heart Association. Bobby was married to actress Sandra Dee from 1960-1967. They had one son, Dodd, born in December 1961. As a result of complications from a rheumatic heart, Bobby's life was tragically cut short in 1973.
Darin's mother, Vanina Cassotto, had given birth to him when she was 16, and as a result, her parents raised Darin as though he were their son while Vanina was presented off as his elder sister. Darin did not learn the truth about his parentage until he was 32.

I'm gonna keep her all to myself
She's gonna be just mine alone
Don't you even call her on the telephone
Oh, Sharon
My Sharon
Uh huh huh
Uh huh huh
I ain't sharin'Sharon with no other guy
You better kiss all your hopes goodbye
I'm gonna stick with her night and day
So she won't have a chance to stray
Oh, Sharon
My Sharon
Uh huh huh
Uh huh huh
I ain't sharin' Sharon, so don't waste your time
I don't talk to your girl, don't you talk to mine.
Since she kissed me by the schoolyard fence
Ooh! Every time I talk I don't make sense
Oh, Sharon
My Sharon
The lyrics of Bobby Darin's song 'I Ain't Sharin' Sharon' express his strong possessiveness towards a woman named Sharon. He is not willing to share her with anyone else, and he is determined to keep her to himself. The repetition of the phrase "I ain't sharin' Sharon" reinforces his conviction in this matter. He states that she is his alone and warns others not to try calling or talking to her. He considers her his possession and believes that no other man will have a chance with her as long as he is around.
Darin's infatuation with Sharon seems to have started when she kissed him by the schoolyard fence. This event seems to have made him somewhat irrational because he admits, "Every time I talk, I don't make sense." This suggests that he is so consumed by his feelings for her that he cannot think or act rationally. Sharon has become his world, and he is not willing to let anyone or anything come between them.
In summary, Bobby Darin's 'I Ain't Sharin' Sharon' is a song about possessiveness and infatuation. The lyrics convey his determination to keep Sharon all to himself and warn others not to get involved with her. He considers her his possession and is irrational in his thinking when it comes to her. The repetition of the phrase "I ain't sharin' Sharon" throughout the song emphasizes the uncompromising nature of his possessiveness.
