Hot Cuban singer, known in the musical as "Cuba's Satan," "El Flaco de Oro". His time was the most prodigious Sonora Matancera.
His artistic beginnings were encouraged by her mother, and that protected by the inherited disease called phocomelia, which caused birth without two fingers and toes. As a child he helped his mother to the sale of handicraft items.
Participated in the contest of the Supreme Court held in Sancti Spiritus Arts. He lived some time in Camaguey and there, with seventeen years old, worked in the orchestra by Joaquin Mendivel and the Body Camacho. He founded the National Trio. He moved to Havana where he was employed as a singer sets the Key Youth Alfonsín Quintana, Luis Santi and Conjunto Casino.
Its golden age began on May 23, 1956, with the Sonora Matancera, at the time directed by Rogelio Martinez. Plant was singer of the band in place of Bienvenido Granda and Laíto Sureda.

Conducido por Ramón Alfaro, y otros dos mas conductores quienes contaban todo sobre la sonora matancera, cosas que no sabíamos, de discos ineditos, versiones ineditas que solo quedaron en cinta, etc. Era super interesante, me quedaba pensando cuando escuchaba alguna novedad
