Kabe ni kakareta moji
Yogensha no rakugaki ne
Kiechimae! Onna nante!
Nante hidoi yume datta no kashira

Kawaranai ai da nante sa
Umai naa hidoi hidoi hito da
Ima ijou hito wo kirai ni sasenaide kudasai

Koibito wa mou konai jidai wa modoranai yo ne
Taimu mashiin wa konai sonna uta wo utatteta
Aa mendou kusai aa

Kabe ni kakareta onna no ko
Namida no shizuku wo kaite ageru
Takusan ao nutte ageru
Atashi to osoroi no

Migi te ni kokoro wo
Tsunagiawaseru hari to ito
Mou kata hou no kirehashi wo sagashi ni yukou tokoro

Koibito wa mou konai jidai wa modoranai yo ne
Taimu mashiin wa konai sonna uta wo utatteta
Doko itta no?

Ai suru koto wo taisetsu ni dekinain ja nai no
Aa baka bakkari
Wakaranai
Aa

Mou kata hou wo sagasou taimu mashiin wa konai
Futatsu no kokoro wo tsunagiawasenakucha
Futatsu no kokoro wo tsunagiawasenakucha
Dakedo misukannai no

Dakishime attari... soshite
Dakishime attari
Aa sona koto ga shitai no
Dakedo misukannai no

Aa dou shiyou
Anata ga ai suru kimochi ni nannakkya ne

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Chara's song "Time Machine" lament the loss of a relationship and the longing to turn back time. The first verse describes the text written on the wall and how it serves as a prediction of the singer's fate. The singer wonders if the dream of being a woman who disappears was a terrible dream. The second verse describes the regret of not appreciating the love that was given and the plea to not make someone hate them more than they do now.

The chorus refers to the impossibility of going back in time and the futility of singing songs about time machines. The singer wishes to erase the tears of the girl written on the wall and share her own pain with her. She wants to hold hands with her and search for the right direction to go. The bridge talks about the search for the missing half, but there is no indication that it can be found. The singer seems to feel lost and unable to connect with someone else in the way she desires, despite wanting to.

The lyrics of the song are wistful and nostalgic, and they express the singer's regrets and longing for a past love. The song is both sad and hopeful, suggesting that while the singer might not be able to go back in time, they can still hold onto the memories and emotions that were meaningful to them. Overall, the song is a reminder of the power of love and the pain of losing it, but also of the resilience of the human spirit.

LYRICS:
Those letters written on the wall
The doodlings of a prophet
"Get the hell out! Bitch!"
What a horrible dream...

"Unchanging love"
That must be nice
terrible. He's a terrible person
Please don't let me hate him any more than I do now

My lover won't come anymore
Those days will never come again, will they?
There's no time machine on the way
You were singing a song like that
Aa-- What a pain. Aa--

The girl drawn on the wall
I'll draw teardrops for her
I'll color in lots of blue
So she's just like me

In my right hand, is my heart
Needle and thread to bind them together
I'm going to look for a scrap from that other half...

My lover's gone
Those days will never come again, will they?
There's no time machine on the way
You were singing a song like that
Where have you gone?

Are you just not capable of valuing love?
Aaa... idiots all around
Aaa... I don't get it
A-aaa

I'm going to look for that other half
There's no time machine on the way
I have to join these two hearts together
I have to join these two hearts together
But I can't find you--

To hold you tight...
And then hold you tight some more...
Aaa, I wanna do stuff like that
But I can't find you--
Aa-a, what should I do?
"You have to start to love," I guess

This song and artist has a history behind it to me. Back in 1997, I recall being 14 sitting in my best friend's basement listening to this song and drawing. This artist would become a favorite of his and often come on. I was curious, so I asked him more about it. Told me she was from Japan and at the time, there wasn't much information on artists abroad. Years would pass, and always bring me back to her music. Those years faded and so did the friendship, as he would eventually pass away. He loved Chara and her music and because of him, I loved her music. I ended up seeing her 2 years ago in Osaka live. What an experience it was. Her around this table talking and laughing with the audience. I cried when this song came on. I could remember us in his basement drawing and laughing. Felt him there that night. Since I never got to say goodbye, it felt a proper way to do so.

***EDIT- After the concert, we went around back and Chara came out. I stood between two people, which she walked over to and handed both a feather to each of them. I know it was by chance, but I wish one of those wasn't for me, but rather for my friend. Not many artists I know hand out feathers to people, usually its just autographs.

May your friend Rest In Peace. Time will heal the pain, friends and songs will always in our hearts.🌸

D As an artist, as someone who also loves Chara, & someone who lost 3 friends to tragedies just in one year, I understand; I feel you. Vinnie Paz said it best when he said in his Power Of Music mini video on YouTube, “music takes us back like no other art form.” Amitābh, friend.

Locus Solus

I think I was 20 when I first heard this song and I listened to it obsessively like I did all Chara and Bonnie Pink songs back then because I could feel their feelings even though I couldn't find the translated lyrics back then and now that I've found them, I'm taken back with in time both by the lyrics and emotions. what a really sad but beautiful song from the loving heart; from the core of a pure female. What a massive universe of emotions that live in there. I wish I knew more but time has past by.

PANCAKES PANCAKES

Locus Solus ah shit yeah!!!!! Bonnie Pink! Heavens Kitchen! Good times!
