The French song Ce Matin by Claire Keim is a melancholic reflection on the aftermath of a breakup. The singer wakes up to find that her ex-partner has left with all of his belongings, leaving behind a clean and empty apartment. She observes the absence of the little things that she used to take for granted, such as his morning routine of leaving bread on the windowsill and spilling his bowl in the sink.
Throughout the song, the singer tries to come to terms with the end of her relationship. She is determined to take control of her own life and be the one who decides how her story ends. Despite the pain of the breakup, she realizes that the hardest part is over and that she is ready to move on.
The lyrics of Ce Matin are simple yet poignant, taking the listener on an emotional journey of loss and acceptance. The melody is slow and melancholic, perfectly complementing the mood of the song. Overall, Ce Matin is a powerful ode to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of heartbreak.
