Cri-Cri is known as the "grillito cantor" or "the singing cricket". He is a character created by Francisco Gabilondo Soler in his childhood and may even be considered "his inner personality"
The character became so famous and gave its author such renown, that it became a second name for Gabilondo. In the mid part of the 20th century he became the most recognizable singer of children's songs in Spanish. Gabilondo's dedication to this segment of the population has been greatly admired, comparable to Walt Disney in his honest approach to making life fun for those who are getting started in life.

ahija ahija ahija
qué le pasa, qué le duele,
si será que va a enfermar
el burrito está llorando
ahija ahija ahija
pobrecito en la escuela
lo pusieron a estudiar.
Tiene que aprenderse bien la lección
y antes de ir a casa saber la "O"
el burrito está llorando
ahija ahija ahija
hay burrito no seas burro
ni tampoco seas llorón.
El burrito está llorando
lo dejaron castigado
por ponerse a platicar
el burrito esta llorando
ahija ahija ahija
por tontito lo obligaron
a quedarse sin jugar
y mientras no sepa hacer la "O"
seguirá copiando del pizarrón.
El burrito está llorando
hay burrito ya no llores
y recuerda tu leccion.
The song "El Burrito" by the Mexican artist Cri-Cri is a playful tune that tells the story of a crying donkey (burrito) who is upset because he has been put in school to learn his lessons. The lyrics start with the repeated lines "El burrito está llorando" (The burrito is crying), and throughout the song, we hear about the various reasons why the burrito is upset. At first, we learn that he is worried that he might be getting sick, but in reality, he is just struggling with his studies.
The chorus of the song encourages the burrito to keep going and not give up, telling him that he needs to learn his lessons and pay attention in class. We hear about how the burrito has been punished for talking too much, and how he is struggling to learn the letter "O". The song ends on a positive note, with the burrito being reminded to focus on his studies and not give up.
Overall, "El Burrito" is a fun and lighthearted song that captures the innocence and joy of childhood, and the struggles that come with learning and growing up.
