Dicen
Que corazón, ¿ah?
¿De qué estás hecho?
You know
¡Daddy! (Situaciones de millones corazones)
In Daddy Yankee's song "Corazones," he contemplates the diverse range of emotions that exist in our hearts, from envy and anger to sincerity and heroism. In the first verse, he delves into the idea of judgment and persecution, imagining what his enemies would do to him if they had the chance. He emphasizes that he is empowered by his belief in God and that, in fact, he is lifted up by his faith. In the second verse, he points directly to the struggles of his homeland Puerto Rico, where crime is high and education is poor. He envisions a way to bring about peace and end the bloodshed, but he acknowledges that there are those whose hearts are so stubborn that they couldn't imagine coming together for any reason. Nonetheless, he remains hopeful and describes the noble and heroic hearts that drive Puerto Rico forward.
The chorus serves as a refrain, emphasizing that there are all kinds of hearts in the world. The negative emotions certainly exist, but there are also hearts full of bravery, kindness, and honesty. In the final verse, Daddy Yankee takes on a more abstract, spiritual tone, contemplating the power of God and the forces of good and evil. His message in this song is one of unity and acceptance, as he reminds us that we are all human, with our own unique set of experiences and perspectives. He suggests that if we can acknowledge and appreciate the complexity of our hearts, we can work towards a more harmonious world.
