Ventos Do Norte
Djavan Lyrics

Não sei como apareceu
Se foi dos ventos do Norte
Ou da maré que cresceu
Toquei o seu lindo rosto
E logo me apaixonei
Amei com bastante gosto
Tomei o posto de rei
Toda a força de uma prece
A me rodear
É como se eu tivesse
Toda a força de uma prece
A me rodear
O meu amor foi tão grande
Que eu nem pude atinar
Toda maré, todo vento
Como vem torna a voltar
Assim se foi meu amor
Deixando comolembrança
A barra de sua saia
Jogada na areia branca
É como se eu tivesse
Toda a força de uma prece
Pra não chorar
É como se eu tivesse
Toda a força de uma prece
Pra não chorar
The lyrics of Djavan's "Ventos Do Norte" tell a story of a sudden and intense love that takes the singer by surprise. He speaks of a woman whom he does not know where she came from or how she appeared in his life, only that perhaps it was through the Northern winds or the rising tide. He touches her face and falls in love deeply and passionately, taking on the role of a king in his emotions.
However, their love was not meant to be forever, and like the winds and tides that brought her to him, she leaves him just as quickly. He is left with only memories of her, one of which is the sight of her skirt hem thrown onto the white sand. The singer reflects on the intensity of his love, comparing it to a prayer that surrounds him and sustains him through the pain of loss.
The lyrics are infused with a sense of nature, with the metaphor of the winds and tides representing the forces that bring people together and tear them apart. It is a reflection of the fleeting nature of love and the sense of powerlessness that can come with it.
