Estrada da Vida
Edson & Hudson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

A gente morou e cresceu
Na mesma rua
Como se fosse
O Sol e a Lua
Dividindo o mesmo céu

Eu a vi desabrochar
Ser desejada
Uma joia cobiçada
O mais lindo dos troféus

Eu fui seu guardião
Eu fui seu anjo amigo
Mas não sabia
Que comigo
Por ela carregava
Uma paixão

Eu a vi se aconchegar
Em outros braços
E saí contando os passos
Me sentindo, tão sozinho

No corpo o sabor
Amargo do ciúme
A gente quando não
Se assume
Fica chorando
Sem carinho

O tempo passou
E eu sofri calado
Não deu pra tirar
Ela do pensamento
Eu ia dizer
Que estava apaixonado
Recebi o convite
Do seu casamento
Com letras douradas
Num papel bonito
Chorei de emoção
Quando acabei de ler

Num cantinho
Rabiscado no verso
Ela disse
Meu amor, eu confesso
'To casando
Mas o grande amor
Da minha vida é você

Eu a vi se aconchegar
Em outros braços
E saí contando os passos
Me sentindo tão, sozinho

No corpo o sabor
Amargo do ciúme
A gente quando
Não se assume
Fica chorando
Sem carinho

O tempo passou
E eu sofri calado
Não deu pra tirar
Ela do pensamento
Eu ia dizer
Que estava apaixonado
Recebi o convite
Do seu casamento
Com letras douradas
Num papel bonito
Chorei de emoção
Quando acabei de ler

Num cantinho
Rabiscado no verso
Ela disse
Meu amor, eu confesso
'To casando
Mas o grande amor
Da minha vida é você

O tempo passou
E eu sofri calado
Não deu pra tirar
Ela do pensamento
Eu ia dizer
Que estava apaixonado
Recebi o convite
Do seu casamento
Com letras douradas
Num papel bonito
Chorei de emoção
Quando acabei de ler

Num cantinho
Rabiscado no verso
Ela disse
Meu amor, eu confesso
'To casando
Mas o grande amor
Da minha vida é você

'To casando
Mas o grande amor
Da minha vida é você
'To casando

Mas o grande amor
Da minha vida é você

Overall Meaning

The song "Estrada da Vida" by Edson and Hudson tells the story of two people who grew up on the same street, enjoying each other's friendship while living different experiences. One person (the singer) sees the other (a girl) blossom into a beautiful and desired woman. He becomes her confidant and protector, but little does she know that he carries a deep passion for her.

The singer struggles with his unrequited love as the girl seeks affection elsewhere. He witnesses her in the arms of other men, feeling bitter and alone, struggling with the bitter taste of jealousy. Despite his suffering, he keeps his feelings to himself, unable to confess his love. He ultimately receives a wedding invitation from the girl, and it seems as though he has lost her forever. However, he discovers a message in the corner of the invitation where the woman admits that even though she is marrying someone else, the singer is the love of her life.

The lyrics are emotionally charged and explore themes of love, betrayal, and unrequited love. They highlight the pain and emotional turmoil that can come with keeping feelings hidden, as well as the hope that love can prevail despite adversity.
