Nel ripetuto scegliere,
Tra una vita di rappresentanze
E i compiti delle vacanze
E questa voglia di fare,
Mi hanno portato qui.
Mentre tu che mi ascolti raccogli
In questo momento
E nessuno vorrebbe andar via.
Ma quando io sono lontano
Comunque ci sei.
Anyway.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now;
I wonder if you're here.
Tutto questo mio sorridere
Tra tutto il mio decidere,
Tra le pubbliche relazioni
E il gioco delle occasoni
E questa voglia di amare,
Mi hanno portato qui.
Noi che abbiamo vissuto da sempre
Gli stessi percorsi,
Non siamo diversi;
Nessuno vorrebbe andar via.
Ma quando io sono da solo
Comunque ci sei.
Anyway.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now;
I wonder if you're here.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now.
Sembra così facile ma non è così semplice
Stare con gli altri a parlare di sè.
Ma è qui che c'è la vita
E quasi tutta intera la vorrei.
Anyway.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now;
I wonder if you're here.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now;
I wonder if you're here.
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now, oh darling...
Anyway, anyway, anyway, anyway
I wonder if you hear me now
The lyrics of Enrico Ruggeri's song "Anyway" detail the singer's reflection on their choices and pursuits in life, and how they have led them to where they are now. The singer acknowledges their tendency to constantly pursue representation and fulfilling tasks, as well as their desire for love. They wonder if the person listening to them can understand or hear them now, whether physically present or not. The repetition of "anyway" throughout the song underscores the idea that despite everything, life continues on.
The singer also notes a shared history with someone listening, indicating a close relationship of some kind. The desire to hold onto this connection is further emphasized by the repeated references to not wanting to leave. The line "Stare con gli altri a parlare di sè" (translated to "To stay with others and talk about oneself") acknowledges the difficulty of being vulnerable with others, but the singer recognizes that this is where life is found.
Overall, the song is about the search for meaning and connection in life, and how challenging and uncertain that journey can be. Through it all, the singer finds solace in the presence of someone who understands and accepts them.

Bel pezzo, bravo Ruggeri, toccante nella melodia, nervo dolcemente grintoso, avvolgente
