These lyrics are from the song "Epanastatis Dihos Thimo" (Revolutionary Without Anger) by Filippos Pliatsikas. The song revolves around the theme of lost hope and the lingering presence of someone who is no longer physically there. The singer expresses feelings of longing and waiting for this person who, despite being absent, always feels present.
The opening lines "Μία ελπίδα χαμένη ένα τσιγάρο κλεφτό" (A lost hope, a stolen cigarette) suggests a sense of disappointment and lost expectations. The next line "Νόμιζα ήσουνα ξένη μα είσαι πάντα εδώ" (I thought you were a stranger, but you are always here) conveys the idea that even though this person is not physically present, their essence remains and is felt by the singer.
The refrain, "Κι ασ είσαι πάντα εδώ κι ασ ξέρω τι ψάχνεισ, Έχω καιρό να σε δω να μάθω τι κάνεισ" (And if you are always here and I don't know what you're looking for, I haven't seen you in a while to know what you're doing), emphasizes the singer's longing to reconnect and understand the current state of this person's life.
The lyrics continue with the same theme, questioning how much longer this person will be absent and how their absence is felt even though they are still present in some way. The phrase "Θα φεύγεισ δε θα υπάρχεισ αλλά θα είσαι εδώ" (You will leave, you won't exist, but you will be here) highlights the paradoxical nature of this person's presence even in their absence.
Overall, the song explores the emotions of longing, disappointment, and the struggle to understand the presence of someone who is physically absent but emotionally and mentally still present.
