These lyrics are from the song "Tragoudia Kleftes" by Filippos Pliatsikas. The song reflects on the power and impact of music. The lyrics convey the idea that songs have a price, even if they don't have a tangible monetary value. The singer suggests that songs always come out as the winners, while the listener ends up losing.
The first stanza states that songs have a cost and continue to win, even if they are not esteemed. This can be interpreted as a commentary on the commercialization of music, where the focus is more on profit rather than artistic value. The singer implies that songs will always prevail and the listener will be left behind.
The second stanza communicates that songs have the ability to wound with their voice. When one cries, the songs become stronger and take the listener along. This can be seen as a reference to the emotional impact of music, how it can provoke strong feelings and take the listener on an emotional journey.
The chorus of the song reiterates that songs steal a moment on the stage, metaphorically depicting them as fearful fugitives who appear and disappear. It implies that songs have the power to captivate and affect the audience, creating a sense of mystery and allure.
The final stanza emphasizes that songs find you first, and if you find them before, they give you their soul for a walk together. It suggests that music has the ability to connect with people on a deep level, offering a shared experience and a glimpse into the soul of the singer.
Overall, the lyrics of "Tragoudia Kleftes" highlight the enduring power of music, its ability to leave an impact, and its ability to captivate listeners, regardless of the value society may place on it.
