The lyrics of Frank Edwards' song, Idi Ebube, are a beautiful expression of praise and worship to God. The opening lines, "Idi ebube, when we lift up our voice in praise, is to you mighty one, when we lift up our voice in worship is to you Holy one," establishes the idea that God is worthy of all adoration and reverence, and all we sing and say to him should be with that understanding.
The next lines, "Come let's magnify him, let's magnify, Onye neme mma, come let's glorify him, let's glorify, Chukwu dindu," invite everyone to join in celebrating and magnifying God together. The repetition of the phrase, "Onye neme mma," meaning "the one who does good," and "Chukwu dindu," meaning "holy God," reinforces the idea of God's goodness and holiness.
The songwriter then goes on to express gratitude for God's love, grace, favor, and mercy, and says his heart will sing praises to God for these things. The song ends with a repeated call to magnify and glorify God, and a declaration that he is glorious and worthy of all praise.
Overall, Idi Ebube is a powerful song that reminds us of the greatness of God and encourages us to worship him with all our hearts and voices.
