In late 2005, FSF went on a long hiatus. During its existence, FSF gave more than a thousand performances. The individual band members proceeded to new jobs. There would be no new album project, but a compilation entitled Hope This Finds You Well was released by Tooth & Nail Records in April 2006. The band also indicated there would be a DVD release of videos and live performance scenes entitled "The Final Curtain". As of late 2010, it was announced the reunion of the band alongside the original singer, Chris Carrabba. Their fourth studio album, Penny Black, was released in 2012.
The name "Further Seems Forever" reflects the band's feelings, being constantly away from family and loved ones while on tour.
The Band Reunited and has planned a tour for 2011

Further Seems Forever Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Alright
Somebody's Heine'
Is crowdin' my icebox
Somebody's cold one
Is givin' me chills
Guess i'll just close my eyes
Oh yeah
Alright
Feels good
Inside
Flip on the tele
Wrestle with Jimmy
Something is bubbling
Behind my back
The bottle is ready to blow
Say it ain't so
Your drug is a heartbreaker
Say it ain't so
My love is a life taker
I can't confront you
I never could do
That which might hurt you
So try and be cool
When I say
This way is a waterslide away from me
That takes you further every day
So be cool
Say it ain't so
Your drug is a heartbreaker
Say it ain't so
My love is a life taker
Dear Daddy,
I write you in spite of years of silence
You've cleaned up, found Jesus,
Things are good or so I hear
This bottle of Steven's awakens ancient feelings
Like father, stepfather, the son is drowning in the flood
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Say it ain't so
Your drug is a heartbreaker
Say it ain't so
My love is a life taker
The lyrics of Further Seems Forever's song Say It Ain't So is a poignant expression of mixed emotions. The opening lines reference someone's beer, and how it's crowding the singer's icebox, giving them chills. The singer closes their eyes and relishes in the feeling. As they flip on the television and "wrestle with Jimmy," they feel something lurking behind their back. They mention the bottle being ready to explode, possibly referring to the singer's growing frustration or anger.
The chorus of the song alludes to someone's "drug" being a heartbreaker, while the singer's love is a life-taker. This line is a clever play on words, expressing the singer's deep hurt and disappointment in their relationship with this person. However, they can't bring themselves to confront this person, as they are afraid they might hurt them. They go on to mention that "this way is a waterslide away from me that takes you further every day," possibly meaning that their paths are headed in different directions.
The song's final verse possibly references the singer's father or stepfather, as they write a letter to them despite years of silence. They mention that the father has found Jesus and cleaned up their act. However, the singer's painful memories resurface after drinking, as they feel like they are drowning in a flood of emotions. The song ends with the chorus, reiterating the singer's pain and hopelessness in their situation.
