Autre monde autres facons
The lyrics of Gérard Lenorman's song La Belle Et La Bête describe the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, but with a twist. The singer reveals that he was born from "disgusting" couplings between a black widow and a toad. He contrasts himself with Beauty, who comes from a world where her parents shower her with gifts because of her blonde hair. The singer describes himself as a beast, who was mocked and hunted by the people of his province. In contrast, Beauty laughed and found entertainment in the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast.
Despite their differences, Beauty eventually extended her hand to the beast. In this moment, they found each other and became one. The beast's suffering ended and he was able to dream again, and hope. Beauty cared for him and loved him, and together they were able to conquer the fairy godmother's spells.
The song ends with the singer transforming into a handsome young man, inviting Beauty to join him at the grand ball of the court. The Beauty and the Beast are no longer something to be forgotten in the past, but are here, alive and together.
