HighasaKite make songs unlike most things yet to come out of Norway. Pop music with a twist. Let's start in Brooklyn. Via Monrovia to Piraeus and Norwegian mountaintops on to Stockholm.
Irresistible soundscapes full of tasty hooks and mysterious stories, musicians from some of Norways best young bands and then some – Highasakite is undoubtably one of the most original and exciting indiebands you’ve come across in a while.
Keyboards, zither, pounding drums and the occasional noise guitar together with Ingrid Helene's distinctive voice makes a delicious blend of exciting indie pop inspired by artists such as Lykke Li and the movie Where The Wild Things Are.
Highasakite's debut album "All That Floats Will Rain" has received rave reviews throughout the Norwegian press, some even calling it album of the year (Dagbladet) and saying that "No song on this album is redundant, it's all brilliantly brought to life. This, ladies and gentlemen, is pop music!"
Highasakite is playing many of Norways biggest and most important festivals this summer, amonst them Øya and Hove, in support of their debut album 'All That Floats Will Rain', out February 3rd 2012, on Norwegian indie label Riot Factory.
What Ever That Means
Highasakite Lyrics

careless of the movement,
kind of sleepwalking, talking
eavesdropping in on every house
not knowing what has happened
I'm snapping out of it
having passed my destination for sure
careless of the season
kind of daydreaming, demon
I see them walking through your door
not knowing what has happened
I'm snapping out of it
having passed my destination for sure
Whatever that means
There are women that come through your door
Whatever that means
There are women that come through your door
Might have been walking twenty blocks
careless of the movement kind of sleepwalking, talking
eavesdropping in on every house
not knowing what has happened
I'm snapping out of it
having passed my destination for sure
Whatever that means
There are women that come through your door I can hear my, my own breathing Whatever that means
There are women that come through your door
The lyrics of Highasakite's song "What Ever That Means" describe a state of disorientation and confusion in the mind of the singer. The repetition of the line "might have been walking twenty blocks" suggests a lack of direction or purpose in their actions. They describe themselves as "careless of the movement", indicating that they are not conscious of their surroundings or the passage of time. They mention "eavesdropping in on every house", which could imply that they are curious about the lives of others, but also highlights their sense of detachment from reality.
The singer also describes their mind as being in a state of "daydreaming, demon", which suggests a sense of inner turmoil or anxiety. They are aware of women coming through a door but do not know what it means. This could be interpreted as a metaphorical representation of their confusion about their own identity and their place in the world. The repetition of the phrase "whatever that means" throughout the song underscores this sense of uncertainty and confusion.
Overall, the lyrics of "What Ever That Means" convey a sense of disconnection from reality and a search for meaning and purpose. The singer is lost in their own thoughts and emotions, but the meaning behind their experiences remains elusive.
