@Shea Tiller I also don’t mean that his voice was completely destroyed. He did have a few good shows in 1973. I like Robert Plant and his voice. He also suffered a few strange incidents which contributed to his vocal problems. He performed a few times when he was sick. There was a story of him being sick and walking around in the rain for hours, and then he performed the next day. All rock singers from the era had problems with their voices at some point. In fact most popular rock singers had problems for years. Steve Perry has completely retired from music, he lost his upper range somewhere in the early 80's. Axl Rose has lost his voice for years. Bon Jovi has lost most of his voice, same with James Hetfield, Rod Steward or Geoff Tate. There are loads of examples of singers losing parts their voices. Chris Cornell lost parts of his voice for years.

Robert has made the most of his voice despite the fact that he lost some of his voice, and he has kept on going in a respectable manner.

Freddie had a very different journey. He is really one of the very few who’s voice improved with time. His voice did sometimes get tired if they toured a lot, and then his voice would start cracking, but after a few days rest his voice was always fine again. Freddie actually began singing quite late. He was only known as a piano player. His first singing performances was with this band, and he was already 23 years old. I think it took time for his voice to develop. He did use a lot of falsetto in the beginning. The range in chest improved during the 80’s, his voice also gained a lot of power during the 80’s. Robert had a natural tenor voice. Freddie’s voice was somewhere between a light baritone and a low tenor. Freddie’s was truly at its best right before he died. From 1987-1991. Check out this quick demo from 1988 of Freddie singing in baritone, tenor and counter tenor.

On Queen’s last album Innuendo, Freddie voice effortlessly glided up. He could easily hit D5, Eb5 and F5 in his chest voice. He recorded some of Queen's most challenging songs, such as The Show Must Go On in two takes.
