Tenía una moto nueva
Tenía una pasión
Dos ruedas y un motor
Tenía un destino
Que lo salvaba de la inexistencia
Acelerado drogado
Luchaba con una carretera
Hecha de puro tiempo
Tenía un pie en la tierra
Y otro en el infierno
Su cara era una máscara
Llena de miles de años
Al verlo nadie dudaba
En declararlo loco
Tenía un destino
Que lo salvaba de la inexistencia
Acelerando drogado
Era el terror motorizado
Despertó a un sueño sin fondo
De vida vegetal
Soñaba con su pasión
Dos ruedas y un motor
Tenía un destino
Que lo salvaba de la inexistencia
Acelerando drogado
Era el terror motorizado
The lyrics of Ilegales's song "Dos ruedas y un motor" tell the story of a young individual who is deeply passionate about motorcycles. They were twenty years old and had just acquired a new bike, which becomes the central element of their life. The motorcycle represents their passion and serves as a means to escape from the mundane existence they feel trapped in.
The song portrays this person as someone with a clear purpose and a sense of destiny that sets them apart from others. They are driven and fearless, fueled by the adrenaline rush that comes from riding. However, this intensity also leads them to engage in risky behaviors, such as driving under the influence.
The lyrics also suggest that the singer finds solace and a sense of purpose on the road. They see the highway as a symbol of time itself, and their constant battle against it signifies a desire to break free from the limitations of their own mortality. The reference to having one foot on earth and another in hell further emphasizes their rebellious nature and their willingness to embrace danger.
Despite being perceived as eccentric or even insane by others, the singer's commitment to their passion remains unwavering. Their face becomes a mask that reflects the wisdom and experience accumulated over countless years spent pursuing this extreme lifestyle. This persona becomes a myth or a legend within their community, and no one questions their sanity.
In the end, the lyrics allude to the singer waking up from a dream without limits, a dream where they have become a vegetative existence. This could be interpreted as a reflection on the potential consequences of their choices, suggesting that their intense devotion to motorcycles may lead them down a path of self-destruction. However, they remain steadfast in their belief that their destiny is tied to the thrill of riding, and their commitment to this lifestyle is what saves them from a life devoid of purpose.
Overall, "Dos ruedas y un motor" can be understood as a celebration of the passion and intensity that drives individuals to pursue their dreams, even in the face of societal judgment and personal risks. It also serves as a cautionary tale, reminding us of the potential consequences that come with obsessively pursuing a singular passion.
