The Sentence
Jan A.P. Kaczmarek Lyrics
Notepad front to back
Failed to rewrite the past
They say they won't pay attention 'less my shit could get me sentenced
I won't lie to you cause it don't feel great
But I've been serving these sentences since I dun got detention
Nigga I been spitting real since Grade Eight
Started summer on a Scarborough block
Brown skin boys by the deep green box
My Momma only bought checks when Winners was on deck
So the Stephen Maubery's got copped- cop-ied
The URL to the search bar baby
YouTube beats had the bars go brazy
Never did hooks Puff sampling 80's
Ain't no if's or maybes just had God to save me
And then Momma moved the family out west
East Side raised now resident in Rex
Spitting sixteens or a sermon at request we could battle
If you want save for Jean-Luc I'm the best
Fifteen years whipping verses like a chef
Sessions smell gorgeous come and take a whiff
Lately the courts treat records like a snitch
Why they want me selling work when every bar's a brick, come sniff
They say they won't pay attention 'less my shit could get me sentenced
I won't lie to you cause it don't feel great
But I've been serving these sentences since I dun got detention
